In today’s live broadcast, Bungie shared more insights about the upcoming expansion of Destiny 2, titled Renegades, which is inspired by Star Wars. It’s an exciting day for Destiny 2 enthusiasts as the long-awaited Ash & Iron mid-season update has been released, offering fresh content and adjustments that players can explore.
Before the launch, Bungie hinted at an upcoming live stream for Destiny 2, promising fans a sneak peek at the Ash & Iron content, including the comeback of the Plaguelands. During this event, three players could engage in a new activity called Reclaim, a mode that combines narrative elements with objectives, allowing players to earn rewards while fighting enemies and facing a time limit. However, the highlight of the livestream was a fresh preview of the upcoming Renegades expansion.
Destiny 2 Renegades Adding a New Social Hub and More
During its live stream, Bungie unveiled a new ViDoc for the forthcoming expansion named Renegades in Destiny 2, slated for release on December 2. Unlike a standalone story, this expansion continues directly from where Edge of Fate left off, delving deeper into The Nine’s prophecy that emerged following the final battle. In a joint effort with LucasFilm Games, Renegades incorporates Star Wars-inspired elements such as sounds, themes, gear, and weapons into its development.
As a gamer, stepping into the shoes of an underworld infiltrator, I find myself on a mission to rescue The Drifter, a friend who’s stumbled into some serious trouble. New Syndicate factions offer me various tasks, each offering distinct replayable activities nestled within the Lawless Frontier – a region that draws inspiration from legendary Star Wars locales like Hoth and Tatooine, among others. There’s even a vibrant social hub at Tharsis Outpost on Mars, where criminal bigwigs gather, providing an excellent opportunity to boost my reputation.
As a devoted Destiny 2 enthusiast, it’s no secret that each expansion brings fresh loot to chase after. This time around, Bungie is introducing an exciting new weapon category for us to conquer – the Blaster! This weapon seems to draw inspiration from the iconic blasters of the Star Wars universe, such as Han Solo’s DL-44, complete with classic blaster sound effects that bring back nostalgic feels. Furthermore, we can expect some thrilling renegade abilities, which allow us Guardians to unleash an array of extraordinary powers like summoning Cabal Walkers, launching air strikes, and so much more!
Although Renegades hasn’t been released yet, players remain optimistic about the anticipated improvements due to the game’s updates and the new leadership at Bungie. Initially, the adjustments in rewards were seen as a positive start, and players continue to anticipate further enhancements.
