This post contains spoilers for Solo Leveling.
In the story known as “Solo Leveling,” Jinwoo Sung originally held the title of the world’s weakest Hunter, struggling even with dungeons considered to be the easiest. However, everything shifted for him following the Double Dungeon incident.
Originally selected by the System, granting him unbounded capabilities, Sung Jinwoo experienced extraordinary growth following a significant event. Consequently, he swiftly climbed the ranks to become Japan’s foremost S-rank Hunter. The second season of the anime explored Jinwoo’s meteoric rise and delved deep into his unique skill of resurrecting the deceased.
Sung Jinwoo Has The Power To Create Shadows
Jinwoo Can Turn Fallen Enemies Into Loyal Soldiers

Jinwoo, portrayed by Sung Jinwoo, possesses an extraordinary ability that allows him to resurrect the deceased as his shadows, rendering him incredibly powerful. He employs this unique power to revive fallen foes and convert them into faithful allies. To date, Jinwoo has summoned the following shadows:
1. Shadow of the Whirlwind: a swift and destructive shadow who fights with a whirlwind that sweeps up enemies and flings them aside.
2. Shadow of the Blizzard: a frigid shadow who freezes his opponents solid, immobilizing them before shattering them to pieces.
3. Shadow of the Inferno: an incendiary shadow who ignites everything around him in flames, causing widespread destruction and chaos.
4. Shadow of the Serpent: a cunning and venomous shadow who strikes from unexpected angles with deadly precision.
5. Shadow of the Titan: a colossal and invulnerable shadow who towers above all others, crushing enemies beneath his massive feet.
6. Shadow of the Terror: an elusive and terrifying shadow who causes his enemies to suffer unbearable fear, causing them to flee in panic.
7. Shadow of the Void: a dark and enigmatic shadow who sucks the life out of his opponents, leaving them lifeless and empty.
8. Shadow of the Tempest: a stormy and tempestuous shadow who unleashes torrential downpours and thunderbolts, overwhelming enemies with water and electricity.
9. Shadow of the Abyss: a shadowy and sinister figure that exudes an air of darkness and despair, causing his enemies to succumb to hopelessness and despair.
- Tank
- Beru
- Iron
- Kaisel
- Igris
- Tusk
Throughout the anime, Jinwoo uses Shadows with different levels of intensity to match the task at hand. For most of the series, he primarily used Igris, who has proven to be reliable. However, near the end of season 2, Jinwoo acquired Beru, but fans didn’t get a full showcase of its abilities yet.
I Am Prepared to Face Off Against Every Hunter on Earth if it Ensures the Safety of My Loved Ones.”
This paraphrase communicates the same intent as the original, but in a more conversational and easier-to-understand manner. The focus is still on Sung Jinwoo’s determination to protect his family at any cost, while also making it clear that this could involve confronting all hunters worldwide.
Given his past powers as the Ant King, it’s clear that Beru remains formidable and could potentially overpower high-ranking S-class hunters with relative ease. In a disadvantageous situation, Jinwoo might use Beru to even out the odds. While raising the dead is an extraordinary ability, there exists another character who possesses an even more powerful skillset.
The Absolute Being Has Better Power Than Sung Jinwoo
He Has The Ability To Create Things Out Of Nothing

In the Solo Leveling anime, the character known as The Absolute Being hasn’t made an appearance yet, but those who have read the novels are aware of his presence. This all-powerful entity had the ability to bring forth things from nothingness, and he utilized this power not only to create higher beings like the Rulers and Monarchs, but also powerful artifacts such as the Cup of Reincarnation. This extraordinary item possesses the capability to rewind time by a decade with each use.
It’s likely that he chose not to craft additional items due to personal preference, given that such a Being had the capability to manufacture more potent relics capable of effortlessly annihilating vast armies.

As an avid explorer of philosophical concepts, it’s fascinating to note that the Absolute Being, with his immense power, could potentially have crafted life forms akin to formidable warriors, much like rulers and monarchs, who would have fought on his behalf in battles. However, contrary to their formidable capabilities, the Absolute Being seemed to struggle in actual combat situations. Interestingly, even the Rulers were capable of defeating him without much difficulty. Remarkably, Sung Jinwoo appears to excel in combat compared to the Absolute Being, a fact that adds an intriguing layer to our understanding of these powerful entities.
Sung Jinwoo Will Obtain New Shadows In Solo Leveling Season 3

In the upcoming third season of Solo Leveling, it’s clear that protagonist Sung Jinwoo will take center stage. As the second season drew to a close, Jinwoo brought Beru into his Shadow Army, making it highly unlikely for any Hunter to thwart him. Consequently, the third season promises an incredibly formidable challenge.

In Season 3, Jinwoo encounters Kandiaru, the mastermind behind the System. This meeting provides Jinwoo an opportunity to question Kandiaru about the genuine intent of the System and why he was chosen. As the protagonist, Jinwoo will engage in a fierce battle with Kandiaru, marking it as the toughest encounter yet. Upon defeating Kandiaru, Jinwoo’s powers will amplify, enabling him to tackle more formidable challenges. It’s evident that Solo Leveling Season 3 promises an outstanding experience. Here’s hoping A-1 Pictures announces the release date for the upcoming season soon.
