After completing Borderlands 4‘s main storyline, players are in for an exhilarating and challenging post-game experience. The adventure doesn’t end with the credits rolling; instead, the real fun and loot-hunting begins during the Borderlands 4 post-game. Below, you can discover all the activities available in the post-game, along with explanations of each activity, so players know exactly what to anticipate after finishing the storyline of Borderlands 4.
Rise Through the Ranks with Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode
Wildcard Missions Provide New Loot and Challenges
Players should continue the pursuit for Ultimate Vault Hunter Rank 5 even after reaching Level 50 in the game’s endgame. This hunt begins immediately upon completing the campaign, as new quests become accessible. To progress further, players need to complete various associated challenges. Upon completion of these challenges, return to Moxxi’s Bottoms Up and accept a Wildcard mission. These missions present tough new challenges with enemies boasting unique modifiers that can significantly alter each mission’s gameplay. Completing these Wildcard missions results in an upgrade to the Ultimate Vault Hunter rank, which could potentially boost enemy damage and health while also increasing loot drops, ensuring players are constantly well-equipped.
Farm Familiar but Stronger Boss Fights with Moxxi’s Big Encore
Moxxi’s Big Encore Machines Provide Replayable Boss Fights for Legendary Loot

In most installments of the series, defeating certain bosses rewards exclusive legendaries. These could be from main or side missions, guardians found in vaults, or random ones scattered throughout the world. Each boss has a unique set of legendary weapons and items that can drop upon victory, though it’s often a matter of luck. Previously, players needed to save their game, quit, then reload to respawn bosses for multiple attempts, but Moxxi’s Big Encore eliminates this hassle. Now, there’s a machine that allows players to enter arenas and instantly respawn the boss for a fee, occasionally requiring Eridium as well, giving players chances to battle bosses again and farm powerful legendary gear.
Purchase Legendary Loot with Maurice’s Black Market
You’re in the Endgame, So the Loot Needs to Feel Like It

In Borderlands 4, one of the thrilling aspects of the endgame for me as a gamer involves the effortless acquisition of Legendary loot. The crux of this new system is Maurice’s Black Market, a one-of-a-kind vending machine that Maurice himself provides us gamers in exchange for some hard-earned cash. What sets this vending machine apart is its intriguing mechanism: it stocks two Legendary items tailored specifically for each player, but the location of the vending machine shifts every week, making it a weekly challenge to find, whether I’m venturing alone or teaming up with other gamers.
Hunt for Firmware and Upgrade Gear with Zane’s Transfer Machine
Unlock a Variety of New Perks by Using Firmware Gear
Players can enjoy a vending machine offering free and ensured Legendary items, along with the option to visit main HUB areas to locate Zane’s Transfer Machine. At level 25 and above, players may encounter Firmware drops on various equipment such as Enhancements, Shields, Weapons, and Class Mods. These Firmware slots offer extra benefits tailored to the player’s playstyle. By consuming these items into a more powerful piece of gear via Zane’s Transfer Machine, players can gain additional bonuses. This machine enables players to maximize their benefits by matching their loadout with a Firmware that aligns best with their gameplay style, such as Lifeblood, which boosts rewards for healing actions. By investing new Firmware into Legendary gear, players can further optimize their builds for the endgame.
Grow Fat in Strength with Specializations
A Separate Leveling System for Passive Investment
As a player, instead of focusing solely on skill levels, I have the opportunity to branch out into Specializations. Unlike skills, specializations have their own independent XP track that’s simpler to invest in and yields more points. This allows me to enhance my character in ways beyond just skills and equipment. With specializations, I can distribute points across seven nodes, which in turn boosts stats like gun damage and movement speed, and unlocks additional skills to customize my Vault Hunter’s loadout. The best part is that the more experience I earn, the more I can continue to invest in my specialization, essentially making it a never-ending path for improvement.
Experience Weekly Activities for Unique Loot
Dedicated Loot Drops and Weekly Activities Take Shape
In a weekly rotation format, Borderlands 4 offers players the opportunity to engage with similar (optional) content that varies each week. This rotating content includes a distinct location for Maurice’s Black Market, a unique weekly boss battle from Moxxi’s Big Encore, and a weekly Wildcard mission. By participating in these weekly activities, players will encounter tougher challenges, surpassing earlier modifier standards, but with even more substantial rewards. As these weekly events can be replayed, players can persistently attempt them to obtain ideal equipment or accumulate vast amounts of XP and currency.
Try Out Different Vault Hunters That Start At Level 30+
There’s No Need to Replay the Campaign From the Start
After finishing the primary storyline in Borderlands 4, players can access the Main Menu and opt for a New Game. From there, they can choose New Game – Ultimate Vault Hunter. This option initiates a new game with the main story completed, putting the Vault Hunter they’ve chosen at level 30. This convenience lets players avoid most of the initial grind to reach endgame content, and it gives them a chance to experiment with Vault Hunters they didn’t initially select, ensuring they aren’t stuck with their original choice from the game’s beginning. It’s a satisfying endgame experience as they can swap between different Vault Hunters at level 30 without having to repeat everything from the start.
Complete Contracts for Eredium
Endgame Contracts Open Up New Rewards
Contracts are tasks or missions that players can discover at their hideouts and faction bases, which they can repeat as desired. These contracts provide diverse activities such as slaying a powerful creature, combating hostile individuals, or gathering specific items. The variety is endless! In the endgame, exclusive contracts grant access to Eredium, a valuable currency needed for upgrading Firmware, respeccing Specializations, and even purchasing various other benefits.
Fight Raid Bosses and Vault Guardians
The Most Powerful and Invincible Boss Fights Reward the Best Loot

Players can gain access to Vaults once they find both the Vault and its fragments to craft a key, which is usually best done during endgame stages due to their challenging nature. Meanwhile, powerful raid bosses are saved for endgame as well, and upon locating them, players will be on a path to becoming the strongest Vault Hunters. These boss battles can be harsh, deadly, but immensely rewarding when players triumph over them, offering some of the best loot available.
