In a delightful twist, one of my all-time favorite games, “Fire Emblem: Three Houses,” left me absolutely ecstatic during the Nintendo Direct broadcast on September 12, as the grand finale revealed a brand new title, aptly named “Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave.” Set in the same intriguing world, I can hardly contain my excitement.
That being said, “Three Houses” is not without its imperfections. One significant issue that persists even after completing every possible route is an array of lingering unanswered questions. As we eagerly await the launch of “Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave” in 2026, here are some mysteries I hope will finally be clarified within this highly anticipated sequel.
What’s Going On With Demonic Beasts?
In the game “Fire Emblem: Three Houses,” Demonic Beasts serve as formidable adversaries. These creatures appear to manifest when people without Crests come into contact with Crest stones or relics, although some seem to have unidentified origins. Characters like Marianne von Edmund and Hapi within the game share connections with these enigmatic beasts; for instance, Marianne is said to be a descendant of one, while Hapi has the ability to summon them with a sigh. The trailer for “Fortune’s Weave” hints at Leda, a character who can call upon Demonic Beasts during battle, implying that the game might offer further insights into these mysterious entities and potentially unveil their secrets.
What’s Up With The Technology In This World?

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but marvel at Fire Emblem: Three Houses and its captivating medieval fantasy world, reminiscent of other titles within the Fire Emblem series. Yet, what sets this game apart is the mysterious antagonistic faction, Those Who Slither In The Dark, who possessed an unsettlingly modern arsenal, such as “arrows of light” that were essentially nuclear weapons. Curiously, the reason behind their technologically advanced status remains a mystery. Interestingly, the trailer for Fortune’s Weave suggests that the game might explore this intriguing anomaly further, as it depicts a character using what appears to be a modern pistol in combat.
Where Did The Nabateans Come From, And What Are They Up To?

In the game Fire Emblem: Three Houses, one intriguing enigma surrounds a long-lived race called Nabateans, who can metamorphose into dragons. These Nabateans are revered as saints and serve as the foundation for Fodlan’s primary religion, the Church of Seiros. They remain shrouded in mystery, leaving players with questions like “what is their origin?” “how did they attain divine status?” and more.
In the teaser for the game Fortune’s Weave, I’m eagerly anticipating that Nabatean Sothis and her kin will play a significant role in the storyline. I can’t wait to find out more about the other Saints, especially Indech and Macuil who were somewhat enigmatic in Three Houses, as well as catching a glimpse of Saint Cichol and Saint Cethleann in their dragon forms. Furthermore, I’m hoping for an updated design for Cethleann that mirrors Sothis’ new adult appearance.
What’s Happened With The Crest System?

Given Sothis’ mature appearance suggesting that Fortune’s Weave might unfold in the future, perhaps far into the future, I’m intrigued to learn about how the Crest system has evolved. In Three Houses, we notice that many nations’ nobility were deeply tied to their Crests, with figures like Edelgard von Hresvelg leading rebellions against this system. The trailer hints at a character, Dietrich, wielding what seems to be a weapon infused with a Crest, although the specific Crest affiliated with it remains unknown as of now.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but ponder what exciting new developments await us in terms of Crests or Heroes’ Relics in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, since the last game. Will these artifacts be more common or remain elusive? Have they extended beyond the nobility to reach lower social classes or are they still primarily associated with high-ranking families? Is it possible for individuals to possess two Crests without incurring permanent health damage? These questions and many more swirl in my mind as I eagerly await the game’s launch.
