Dead By Daylight Bot Speed Glitch is Causing Problems

Highlights

  • Bots in Dead by Daylight are glitching to have unlimited speed, outrunning killers and causing frustration for players.
  • The bug seemingly originated from disconnecting players using exhaustion perks, granting perpetual haste effects to bots in-game.
  • Current glitches like the bot speed bug may impact gameplay until fixed by developers.

As a dedicated fan of Dead by Daylight, I’m deeply disappointed and frustrated by the recent bot speed glitch that’s been affecting gameplay. The bots, which were introduced as a replacement for disconnected players in public matches, have become unbeatable with their unlimited speed. This issue originated from disconnecting players using exhaustion perks, granting perpetual haste effects to the bots in-game.

In the intriguing multiplayer horror game “Dead by Daylight,” an unusual glitch is emerging. Survivor bots in this title are persistently afflicted with the Haste perk, enabling them to sprint faster than most killers. This situation has left numerous players of “Dead by Daylight” feeling aggravated.

In “Dead by Daylight,” bots are a relatively new feature, debuting in custom games concurrently with The Knight’s release towards the end of 2022. Since then, they have been refined to step in for disconnected survivors in public matches. Previously, when a survivor dropped out, they would succumb instantly, creating an unfavorable situation for their teammates and denying killers potential points, impacting their progression through the rankings. Although not particularly impressive, bots do finish objectives and serve as additional targets for killers to engage with. However, there’s currently a bug that makes dealing with them a bit more challenging than intended.

A Reddit user named “ohsrymb” shared a video displaying an anomaly with Jeff Johansen’s bot in “Dead by Daylight.” The bot exhibits an unnatural ability to outrun them, resembling the effect of speed-enhancing perks like Sprint Burst or Lithe. Survivors usually trail behind killers due to their slower movement; hence, having a survivor with such a significant speed advantage is conspicuous and challenging. Although the bots in this game aren’t adept at looping, the speed boost extended a short chase into a lengthy one of nearly 30 seconds, consuming an extensive portion of the killer’s time and potentially deciding the outcome unfavorably for them.

Bots are Gaining Unlimited Speed when Disconnecting Under the Effects of Haste in Dead by Daylight

As a dedicated gamer in Dead by Daylight, I’ve come across a peculiar issue brought up by a player named Yosmow. This glitch occurs when an exhaustion perk user disconnects from the game during the application of the perk. Exhaustion perks are some of the most potent tools in our arsenal, but they leave us drained and unable to use them again until we recover. The exhaustion meter cannot be replenished while running, making these perks effective only once per chase.

In the ongoing public test phase for Dead by Daylight, players have the opportunity to experiment with the upcoming survivor, Lara Croft. However, during regular gameplay, an issue was detected. This problem emerged from the game’s main build, and Behaviour Interactive has yet to address it. With other challenges such as Trickster’s blindingly bright knife attacks or invulnerable spots in Backwater Swamp, there are several pressing concerns that require resolution. Due to its simplicity to reproduce, this bug may escalate into a more significant problem for the community at large if left unchecked.
