In this freshly released free-play title, you’re granted the opportunity to design your ideal character for restoring order in a post-apocalyptic landscape. Although not as intricately detailed as the character creator in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you can still devote ample time experimenting with various sliders to modify facial and physical attributes.
If you bypass the character creation process by choosing a pre-existing character, remember that altering your name or appearance later on can only be accomplished by reaching for your wallet. In the event that you’re reconsidering your character choices within “Once Human,” here is how to proceed.
How to Change Your Name in Once Human
In “Once Human,” you can’t alter your character name except by obtaining and using a “Renaming Card.” These exclusive items, unobtainable through looting or crafting, can only be purchased with real-world money at the in-game Shop.

The duration of this experience can vary, with some players diligently clearing every room, while others opt for a more expedited journey to reach the boss in approximately 15 minutes.
After obtaining a Renaming Card, hit the Esc key to bring up the pause menu. Next, click on your profile picture located at the top-right corner of the screen. Choose the “Edit Name” option using the menu that appears, consume your Renaming Card by entering your preferred new character name in “Once Human” and confirm the change.
A single Renaming Card comes with a price tag of 300 Crystgins, which is valid for use only once. Alternatively, you can obtain 330 Crystgins by purchasing a pack from the Shop for $4.99.
How to Change Your Appearance in Once Human
Just as in the novel “Once Human,” transforming your appearance necessitates using an additional expensive item named a Chrysalis Token. This item can only be acquired from the Shop, and it’s not possible to obtain it for free via looting or crafting.
Instead of simply renaming cards, Chrysalis Tokens come with a higher price tag. Each token sets you back 480 Crystgins. The only option available is purchasing the $15 pack that grants you a total of 1090 Crystgins.
After purchasing a Chrysalis Token from the shop, return to the game and construct a Floor Mirror. Access the build menu by pressing B on your keyboard, and then navigate to Furnishing Items under Furniture to locate the Floor Mirror. The cost for building it is 20x Logs and 10x Glass. Make sure to create this item within your territory. If you find yourself running low on space, add more Wooden Platforms to expand your land in “Once Human”.

This action grants me access to the character creation menu where I have the freedom to modify various aspects of my appearance, such as facial features, hairstyles, skin tones, and markings.
