Taking down the Timekeeper’s control over Kairos will be a long journey. During the “A Lot to Process” quest in Borderlands 4, players will search for a scientist from the Order who might be able to significantly help the rebellion and make it more achievable.
This quest can take a while to complete, with lots of battles and driving. You might even run into a bug that stops you from continuing. This guide will walk you through the “A Lot to Process” quest in *Borderlands 4*, covering all the key steps, solutions to common problems, and other helpful information.
Borderlands 4: A Lot to Process Walkthrough
Once you’ve dealt with Idolator Sol’s spymaster, you’ll need to find out what the local ruler is planning with a dangerous new weapon. Rush and Conway from the Outbounders will tell you about a scientist from the Order who’s hiding in the nearby woods, and they’ll ask for your help in convincing them to join your cause.

Head to the first marker on your map. You’ll arrive at a house that seems isolated. To get inside, go to the small building nearby and clear a path through one of its windows. Then, shoot the generator inside. This will cause windows to open on the front of the house, revealing turrets that will start firing at you. Destroy those turrets, and then you can enter the house.
You’ll find Zadra inside – she’s the scientist Conway and Rush told you about. While she isn’t a vampire, she has valuable information about the Order. As soon as you meet her, she’ll be captured, and it’s your job to rescue her. Take out the Order guards outside, then head to the quest marker on the other side of the Fadefields.
The Processing Plant
Your mission takes you to a facility where the Order is capturing Wildhorns for study. Expect heavy security – lots of Synths and soldiers – but your main goal is simple:
- Follow the Wildhorns inside the facility.
- Modify the shower controls.
- Stand in the Wildhorn shower and bathe yourself in blood.
- Reach the Wildhorn scanner at the end of the processing track.
- Find and rescue Zadra inside the facility.

You’ll find one of the Fadefield Vault Symbols inside Zadra’s cell in the facility. Don’t forget to scan it!
Borderlands 4: A Lot to Process Quest Bug

Some players are experiencing an issue where Zadra doesn’t unlock the next area after being freed. If this happens to you, here’s what you can try:
- Search the entire area for stragglers. Some enemies may have gotten stuck inside their spawn rooms.
- Blow yourself up to force a checkpoint restart.
Sometimes enemies wander around and get turned around in this arena. We had one, an Armature, get so lost that it stopped attacking us. This made the combat tracker change from red to yellow, falsely suggesting the area was safe – but it wasn’t.
Borderlands 4 Oppressor Boss Fight

When you reach the top of the facility, you’ll encounter more Order soldiers. You’ll need to defeat them and collect the parts they drop to repair the teleporter. Once you’ve gathered all the parts, the enemies will stop appearing, and Zadra will instruct you to install them in the teleporter’s terminal.
Once the teleporter sends Zadra away, it will disappear, leaving you to face more enemy soldiers and the Oppressor – a powerful flying gunship that serves as the main challenge. The Oppressor will attack from the air with various weapons, so focus on dodging its attacks and shooting it down until it crashes.
Once you finish this mission, you can come back here and repeatedly play against the Oppressor for a chance to win rare, powerful items.
Find Zadra (Again)

Once you defeat the Oppressor, a large door will open, bringing you back to the main entrance of the processing plant. Before you leave, open the red chest nearby, and then use your Digirunner to fly away.
Okay, so after finishing up, I just headed to Zadra’s Backup Plan – it’s this hidden base underground, but watch out for traps and some seriously nasty creatures! Once inside, I met Zadra, and she filled me in on how to actually defeat the Timekeeper. She also gave me the lowdown on his most trusted helpers, which is super helpful for planning my next move.
Zadra will give you all the information you need to finish this quest. Once she’s done talking, most of Kairos will become accessible. We suggest defeating Idolator Sol before exploring Carcadia Burn or Terminus Range. After that, it’s a good idea to complete some optional quests or activities in the Fadefields before continuing the main story.
Okay, so I’ve learned the hard way – don’t try to speedrun this game! You’ll hit a wall where enemies are way stronger, like five levels stronger! But honestly, doing the Vaults in *Borderlands 4* has been a lifesaver. They’re awesome for getting extra XP and loot, *and* you unlock upgrades for your Glider when you finish them, which is super helpful. It’s a great way to level up when you’re stuck!
