As a devoted One Piece fan, I’m thrilled to share that the much-anticipated One Piece Day ’24 is scheduled for August 10-11 at the renowned Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba, Japan. With its rich lineup designed for our diverse community, this two-day extravaganza is gearing up to surpass all previous editions. Expect an action-packed program brimming with activities, exclusive announcements, and thoughtfully curated special initiatives that celebrate every aspect of the beloved One Piece universe.
With the support of Shueisha Inc., Toei Animation Co., Ltd., and Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., One Piece Day ’24 offers a variety of exhibitions and live shows. Some parts of this event can be accessed by international audiences through live streams. The lineup features artists hailing from Japan as well as other countries, making for a globally inclusive celebration of One Piece. Without any further delay, let’s explore all the exciting offerings of One Piece Day ’24.
What To Expect From One Piece Day ’24
One Piece Day, which began in 2022, has grown into a significant event for fans of the franchise both in Japan and globally. The day is marked by numerous important announcements and happenings. Similar to previous editions, One Piece Day ’24 will showcase offerings from various aspects of the franchise: manga, anime, films, video games, music, and merchandise.
At this year’s One Piece Day, there will be an Exhibition Area with an Open Stage, in addition to a Live Area where multiple artists will perform. You’ll need separate tickets to access both areas. Ticket sales and registration are ongoing on the official website, with ticket distribution handled through a lottery system. The event agenda includes various initiatives aimed at keeping attendees and live audiences captivated throughout One Piece Day ’24.
Exhibition Area And Open Stage
At the upcoming Special Exhibition, visitors will be greeted by colossal balloon depictions of Dorry and Brogy. The Exhibition Zone will offer a unique opportunity for character interactions, in addition to open-air stage performances. For those unable to attend in person, events within the Exhibition Area will be streamed live and free on the One Piece YouTube channel. Meanwhile, attendees at the physical event will receive exclusive merchandise as a token of appreciation, including tote bags and promotional One Piece Card Game sets.
As a devoted fan of One Piece, I’m thrilled to share that this year’s festivities hold a special celebration for the 25th anniversary of the beloved anime. In honor of this momentous occasion, an exciting initiative has been planned to showcase the fan-favorite scenes from the series. This project, titled “Anime ONE PIECE Best Scenes Poll – Top 100 Scenes Production Crews Find Memorable,” saw the production staff carefully select 100 iconic moments from One Piece that left an indelible impression on them.
Following that, the agenda for the initial day on the Open Stage features the Finals of the One Piece Bounty Rush The 2nd Extreme Treasure Festival Tournament, where the elite 16 teams from the preliminaries will strive to secure the title of Japan’s finest. Subsequently, Ryusei Ikuta will present a news segment, sharing valuable updates about upcoming One Piece announcements and initiatives due in the ensuing twelve months.
Beginning the second day of celebrations, the Open Stage will showcase a unique insider look at WIT Studio’s forthcoming “One Piece” anime revision, named “The One Piece.” Following this revealing presentation, attendees can join a Special Stage event focusing on the collaboration between UT and “One Piece,” featuring Uniqlo’s graphic t-shirt line. This captivating event will showcase an exclusive collection inspired by the “Monkey D. Luffy Adventure Trail” launched in summer 2024, along with all 163 collaborative t-shirts produced by UT x “One Piece.”
In the following portion of the show, there will be another news segment. After that, we have a special segment for fans of the One Piece Card Game. Following this, the One Piece Knowledge King Finals, which is the 6th edition, will take place. The event will conclude with a live recording of “Mugiwara Space” radio broadcast. During this recording, listeners will get to hear the voices of all Straw Hat Pirates and the seven Vegapunks introduced in the Egghead Arc of One Piece.
Live Area Performances
Beyond the happenings at the Exhibition Site, One Piece Day ’24 will feature a collection of live concerts in the Live Zone. Notable acts include Hiroshi Kitadani and Maki Otsuki, musicians renowned for their contributions as openings and endings theme singers for the One Piece anime series. Additionally gracing the stage are Japanese group GRe4N BOYZ, virtual YouTuber Mori Calliope, acclaimed singer Ado, and boy band BE:FIRST.
At the One Piece Day event, access to Live Area performances is exclusive and can only be obtained by purchasing tickets through the One Piece Day website, which involves creating a Stagecrowd account. In contrast, Exhibition Area events will be freely accessible via YouTube for viewers in countries including but not limited to the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain.
