Players of Borderlands 4 quickly completed a recent community goal, unlocking a special Break Free Pack filled with new character skins and a powerful legendary shield. Like other Borderlands games, finding new and better gear is a key part of Borderlands 4. Players can also get extra items by using special Shift codes released from time to time.
Players are always trying to find better gear, whether to improve their character’s abilities or just feel stronger. *Borderlands 4* offers plenty of powerful legendary items, and there are many ways to get them. You can tackle challenging endgame content like Ultimate Vault Hunter mode, repeatedly fight bosses in Moxxi’s Big Encore, or redeem special Shift Codes released by Gearbox for rewards like Golden Keys and other items.

To celebrate the launch of *Borderlands 4*, Gearbox encouraged players to play as much as possible – defeating enemies, completing missions, and racking up impressive stats. Players responded enthusiastically, motivated by the chance to earn a free Break Free Pack of in-game items. By playing at a high rate, they unlocked rewards like two unique ECHO-4 skins, a distinctive red, black, and yellow character skin, and a powerful Legendary shield called the Firebreak Ripper Shield.
Along with showing off the game’s code, Gearbox revealed some fun stats from the community challenge. Players looted 1.5 million pieces of gear from outhouses, and a surprising 4.5 million players intentionally blew themselves up with grenades! In total, the community looted over 764 million items and attempted over 62 million boss fights, with only 16 million attempts ending in failure. That’s a pretty good success rate, though it might decrease when *Borderlands 4* releases new, unbeatable bosses as downloadable content.
In Borderlands 4, defeating world bosses is a good way to get powerful new gear, but there are a couple of things to remember. These bosses appear randomly in the open world, and fighting one involves entering a special arena-a dome-shaped area. However, players have discovered that if you step outside the dome during the fight, the boss disappears instantly, and you won’t get any rewards. So, it’s important to stay within the arena to win!
