On September 18th, Dune: Awakening will get an update to fix a bug that’s been causing items to appear as if they’re already in players’ inventories, making it impossible to use those slots. Since launching on June 10th, the game has had some bugs, but Funcom has been quick to address them and prevent bigger problems.
Following the recent Hotfix 3 for Patch 1.2.0.0, Funcom has announced a potential fix for a frustrating inventory bug in *Dune: Awakening*. The hotfix already addressed issues with Landsraad contracts, the Deep Desert, and initially identified the cause of the bug, which made items appear to take up space even when invisible. While the initial fix prevented the bug from happening again, players experiencing the issue weren’t fully resolved. This new update, released on September 18th, appears to offer a complete solution for those affected.
Dune: Awakening Invisible Inventory Bug Fix Coming on September 18
The team behind *Dune: Awakening* announced on Twitter that they’re fixing a bug causing items to disappear from player inventories. The fix will be applied during maintenance scheduled for September 18th from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM CEST. To prevent losing items, players should move everything out of their personal inventories before logging off. Items stored in containers or vehicles are safe, as long as those containers and vehicles are located within a player’s base.
Players have been dealing with a long-standing bug that causes items to appear as if they’re still in their storage even after they’ve been used. To fix this, they’ve come up with some clever solutions. Some players found that changing how their inventory is sorted worked, while others used the respawn feature. A few even intentionally let the sandworms in *Dune: Awakening* eliminate their characters, hoping to clear out the unwanted, invisible items.

Despite a few stubborn bugs, *Dune: Awakening* has generally done well since it launched. While it hasn’t reached its initial peak in popularity, it’s maintained a solid and dedicated player base. The release of the Lost Harvest DLC and the free Chapter 2 update (Patch 1.2.0.0) recently brought a renewed wave of interest, which is a positive sign for the game’s future.
