I’m completely addicted to Borderlands 4, and I have a feeling that will continue for a long time. I haven’t found anything to dislike so far – I generally enjoy video games, especially those in franchises I love. There’s a lot to enjoy in Borderlands 4, like the side quests and optional activities. But what I love most is the combat, which feels a lot like Destiny. As a big fan of both Borderlands and Destiny, it’s a perfect combination for me.
Guns are still central to the combat in *Borderlands 4*, but this installment introduces significant changes. It focuses more on fast-paced movement, giving it a feel similar to *Destiny*, and features Vault Hunters with more diverse abilities than ever before. The new Ordnance system, which overhauls grenades and heavy weapons, is another fantastic addition – I especially love it and find myself using it constantly. Honestly, I think I could succeed just by combining the Ordnance system with the improved movement alone.
Why I Can’t Stop Spamming Ordnance in Borderlands 4

The Cooldown System Changed How I Play
The biggest change in *Borderlands 4* is how it handles grenades and heavy weapons. Unlike previous games, they no longer rely on limited ammo or require you to find more. Instead, they recharge over time. In past *Borderlands* titles, you had a limited number of grenades and heavy weapon uses, and finding or purchasing refills was a constant concern. This meant these powerful items weren’t used as frequently in combat. *Borderlands 3* introduced heavy weapons with their own, very rare ammo, which often ran out quickly, further limiting their use.

The way ordnance works in *Borderlands 4* has really changed my playstyle. I used to worry about running out of ammo or limited-use items, but now I can use ordnance whenever its cooldown finishes. I often find myself using it after every one or two gun clips, which makes taking down enemies much easier. While *Borderlands 4* is a bit more challenging than past games, it’s designed to encourage frequent ordnance use, creating a good balance.

Grenade Mods Make the Spam Worth It
Okay, so I’ve been playing a lot of *Borderlands 4*, and I’ve noticed something about the weapons. Honestly, I’m finding grenades way more useful than those big, heavy weapons most of the time. It just feels like you go through heavy weapon ammo so quickly, and that cooldown really gets annoying. With grenades, I can just chuck them into the fight and not really worry about it – they usually end up hitting *something*, which is great. I definitely prioritize finding good grenades whenever I can.

I’m still having a lot of fun with the shooting in *Borderlands 4*, especially finding all the cool and unique weapons while exploring the world of Kairos and fighting against the Timekeeper. It’s just as rewarding as ever to discover a gun that makes you feel incredibly powerful. However, I’m not a fan of the new Ordnance system. While it might be too strong, I’ll just say that it’s one of my favorite additions to *Borderlands 4*, and I’m always on the lookout for the perfect grenade.
