Destiny 2 Fan Turns Vault of Glass Raid Into an Epic LEGO Set

Highlights

  • A Destiny 2 fan created a stunning LEGO Vault of Glass diorama with intricate details of the Raid.
  • Bungie reintroduced popular Raids from the original Destiny, like Vault of Glass, into Destiny 2 with tweaks.

As a dedicated Destiny 2 player and avid LEGO enthusiast, I am absolutely blown away by the creativity and dedication of a fellow fan who took it upon themselves to create a stunning LEGO diorama of the Vault of Glass Raid. This intricately detailed masterpiece showcases the final arena of this iconic raid, where Guardians face off against the formidable Atheon.

A gamer built an impressive LEGO model of the “Vault of Glass Raid” from “Destiny 2” and posted it online for all to see. Notably, this raid was the initial one to be revived in “Destiny 2”.

In “The Final Shape,” Bungie introduced Salvation’s Edge, bringing the total number of Raids in Destiny 2 to thirteen, excluding the two smaller Raid Lairs released shortly after launch in late 2017. Some of Destiny 2’s large-scale Raids were originally part of the first Destiny game and were later transferred with adjustments, like Vault of Glass. An enthusiastic gamer even constructed a diorama of Vault of Glass using LEGO pieces, known for being one of Destiny 2’s easier Raids.

On the Destiny 2 subreddit, user HeisenBurgdorf posted images of their intricately detailed LEGO diorama of the Vault of Glass raid, which consisted of over 4,000 pieces and took several months to plan out. In this masterpiece, Guardians engage in intense battle against Atheon, the powerful final boss, in the last arena of the Raid. The Guardians are modeled after HeisenBurgdorf’s clan members, and some figures boast customized elements such as the Helm of Optimacy and Hunter’s helm from the Hardened Basilisk Universal Ornament set. These unique parts were designed and printed by a friend of the Reddit user.

The “Destiny” series didn’t get an authorized LEGO edition, but sets based on this game were manufactured under the Mega Construx label, previously MEGA BLOKS. This partnership brought about the production of sets featuring Guardians and constructible figures of characters such as Atheon and Dominus Ghaul. Notably, Dominus Ghaul was the major villain in the base campaign of “Destiny 2.”

Active Destiny 2 Raids – July 2024

  1. Last Wish
  2. Garden of Salvation
  3. Deep Stone Crypt
  4. Vault of Glass
  5. Vow of the Disciple
  6. King’s Fall
  7. Root of Nigthmares
  8. Crota’s End
  9. Salvation’s Edge

In my experience as a devoted Destiny player, two additional Raids from the original game, Crota’s End and King’s Fall, resurfaced in Destiny 2. However, one Raid from the first title remains absent – Wrath of the Machine, which was the headlining Raid for the expansion, Rise of Iron. The Devil Splicers, an adversarial faction of the Fallen, were the antagonists in Wrath of the Machine, but they have yet to emerge as enemies within Destiny 2.

Bungie took away three Raids from the game “Destiny 2”: Leviathan, Scourge of the Past, and Crown of Sorrow, as the story progressed over the years. Additionally, the two Raid Lairs, Eater of Worlds and Spire of Stars, were also affected. All five were rendered obsolete with the launch of “Beyond Light” DLC on November 10, 2020.
