Later, it’s revealed that his instructor, Jigoro Kuwajima, took his own life after encountering Upper Rank One, Kokushibo on a mission and Kaigaku joined the Twelve Kizuki as a result.

No matter what life throws at me, I haven’t truly lost until I’ve given up the fight. I might stumble and fall, endure hardships, or face accusations. But as long as my heart keeps beating, there’s always a chance for redemption. And I believe in that possibility. I carry on with unwavering faith in my ability to rise above adversity and emerge victorious.

Zenitsu was deeply saddened by Jigoro’s death since he was the one who believed in him when he was young and shaped him into the skilled fighter Zenitsu is today. Determined to seek justice, they joined the Demon Slayer Corps and rose through its ranks, eventually becoming Hashiras.

The Kocho sisters have always leaned on one another, their connection becoming stronger with each challenge they encountered. Regrettably, just as they seemed to have survived the ordeal of losing their parents, events took a heartbreaking turn. One fateful evening, Kanae Kocho unexpectedly crossed paths with the Upper-Rank Two of the Twelve Kizuki. We manage to defeat Enmu, but are taken aback when the Upper-Rank Three makes an unwelcome appearance on the scene.

With Tanjiro hurt and Zenitsu lacking the ability to face someone as formidable as Akaza, Rengoku determines it’s up to him to tackle this dangerous demon solo. He puts up a valiant fight, leaving the Upper-Rank Three astonished by his exceptional combat skills and unyielding spirit. However, against the might of Akaza, the Flame Hashira suffers grievous wounds and succumbs to his injuries not long after.
