Riyadh Masters: Who Will Claim The $1.5 Million Grand Prize?

As a seasoned Dota 2 gamer and avid follower of esports news, I can hardly contain my excitement as we approach the final stages of the Riyadh Masters 2024. The anticipation is palpable in the air, and the $5 million prize pool only adds fuel to the fire. Twelve teams are left standing, each with their sights set on the grand prize and 1,000 Club Points.

As a gamer, I can’t wait any longer! The grand finale of the Esports World Cup – Riyadh Masters 2024 for Dota 2 is just around the corner. This tournament is massive, with an incredible $5 million prize pool up for grabs. With the recent rounds coming to a close, some teams were given a share of that money as consolation prizes. We’re now on the brink, only hours away from the start of the Riyadh Masters playoffs.

As a gamer, I find myself standing at the edge of the arena, my heart pounding with excitement as I look upon the twelve teams gathered before me. Each one is bursting with energy and determination, but only one can claim the ultimate glory: the $1.5 million grand prize and 1,000 Club Points. Will it be Team Falcons that triumph once again? Or will a newcomer like Tundra shock us all and march to victory? The anticipation is killing me!

Anyone’s Game

At the start of the Riyadh Masters tournament in Saudi Arabia, there was excitement as Entity’s captain Dzmitry “Fishman” Palishchuk and Tundra’s Edgar “9Class” Naltakyan nearly had a fistfight. During the encounter, Fishman got up close to 9Class. This led to a small physical altercation, resulting in Fishman being penalized $8,000 by ESL. It was rumored that the organizer considered expelling Fishman from the competition entirely, but instead, he was required to issue an apology to 9Class. In response, Fishman released a statement.

Let’s move on from this subject. If anyone believes I’m a harmful individual, they have it wrong. I don’t instigate disputes. In my opinion, he behaved inappropriately and goaded me into response.

At the Riyadh Masters tournament in 2022, Tundra emerged as a strong contender for the first place win. Previously, this British team astonished everyone by taking home the victory at The International. However, since then, the team’s lineup has undergone changes and they haven’t made significant headlines. In the preliminary rounds of the competition, Tundra remained undefeated in every match. Currently, Team Falcons is the only other squad that appears to be a worthy opponent in terms of the Club Championship rankings.

Ten other teams are still in contention, but BetBoom’s “Save-” Melnic expressed gratitude and optimism after securing a place in the playoff’s lower bracket.

Feeling great about myself here. We almost didn’t make it past the first round, but reaching the lower bracket is satisfactory for us.

Behold the complete list of teams participating in the final round of the Riyadh Masters, along with their initial matchups:

  • Team Falcons vs. WBG.XG
  • Entity vs. Gaimin Gladiators
  • Team Spirit vs. Team Liquid
  • Tundra Esports vs. OG
  • Aurora
  • BetBoom Team
  • LGD Gaming
  • PSG Quest

It’s possible that OG, the two-time winners of The International and one of the most accomplished teams in Dota 2, might make a comeback and achieve a major victory.

By the end of the weekend, the victor will be crowned.
