The First Descendant: How To Fast Travel

As a dedicated fan of looter shooters, I’ve played my fair share of games that offer vast open worlds to explore. The First Descendant has truly captured my attention with its intricate mechanics and immersive gameplay. However, navigating the expansive map can be quite daunting for newcomers like myself.

The First Descendant is the latest third-person shooter that has taken the world by storm. This looter shooter takes great inspiration from the likes of Warframe and Destiny 2, yet it manages to add a unique twist to the formula. While the game offers multiple regions worth exploring, many players do not know how to get around.

Players have the ability to quickly move to desired locations in The First Descendant, though it may not be apparent at first. The fast travel function proves essential as you’ll often need to return to various spots to finish quests. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the ins and outs of using fast travel, as well as some additional helpful tips.

How To Fast Travel In The First Descendant

The First Descendant: How To Fast Travel

To fast travel in The First Descendant, here is what you need to do:

  1. Access the Map by pressing Up on the D-pad or M on the keyboard.
  2. Look for Outposts or Temporary Safe Zones in the region where you want to travel.
  3. Long press the interact button to travel to the location of your choice.

As an avid player of “The First Descendant,” I can tell you that my character is able to quickly travel to Outposts and Temporary Safe Zones only. These locations become accessible as I advance through the game. For example, after finishing the tutorial, I discovered Kingston, which consists of three distinct areas: the Grand Square, The Destruction, and The Fallen Theater. If I have an active mission in a new area like the Grand Square, it automatically unlocks the Outposts within that area for me to fast travel to.
