Where To Find Death Rite Bird In Shadow Of The Erdtree

The Death Rite Bird can be found near Charo’s Secret Tomb, as indicated by the map image on the right. This tomb is situated within the cemetery, not far from where other bird statues serve as companions. Once you reach a specific point in this area, the bird will emerge in a burst of blue flames.

Based on my years of gaming experience, I strongly believe that taking out the smaller foes before engaging the boss is a game-changing strategy. As someone who has spent countless hours in various virtual worlds, I can attest to the frustration of being overwhelmed by hordes of enemies while trying to focus on the main adversary. The Death Rite Bird isn’t the most challenging boss in the DLC’s extra content, but defeating it may pose some difficulty for players new to its attack patterns. It can rapidly approach you, and the flames that manifest as ghostly apparitions inflict significant damage when they touch you. These flames linger on the ground for a while after being used.

Dead Rite Bird Moveset

• Basic Attacks: When the player is close to the bird, it will fly up and swing its staff or perform a wide sweeping attack. It might also rear its head back and peck at the player, which can initiate a devastating grab attack animation. These attacks can easily be avoided by rolling into the attack, giving players the opportunity to punish the enemy afterward.
• (Normal Attack): The boss will ignite a ghostflame and sweep its weapon, creating a wave of blue fire in a single line. It will only do this when the player is further away. The attack can be avoided by running to the side — or dodging sideways at the appropriate time.
• (Strong Attack): The boss will ignite a ghostflame and slam its staff into it, causing an explosion. Players can strafe behind the enemy, or create some distance once they see the flame ignite to avoid the attack.
• : The death rite bird will charge up its staff and slam it into the ground, creating a fairly large explosion. Players can run away and punish the attack using ranged weapons, spells, or ranged consumables.
• Ghostflame Feather Barrage: The bird will flare its wings and release a host of ghostflame feathers that will chase down the player, staggering them on each hit, eating away the HP at a very fast pace. Run sideways or summon Torrent and sprint to the side to avoid the attack.

Effective Strategy Against Death Rite Bird

As a gamer, when I want to quickly eliminate an enemy without spending much time on it, I usually opt for a strategic approach. Here’s how:

• Get any long-range weapon or spell that you can equip and deal a lot of damage with. Anything with the Holy attribute is much more powerful against this enemy, but any high-damage weapon will work fine.
• Summon a tanky Spirit Ash that can take a beating before initiating the fight.
• Get rid of the straggling birds around the arena before initiating the boss fight.
• Get in a couple of hits while the boss is spawning, and then retreat, letting your summon pull aggro.

• Spam your weapon or spell, keeping an eye around you to make sure no enemies approach you.
• Be prepared to summon Torrent to run away or dodge any sudden attacks from the boss.

An effective choice for a weapon with long-reach capabilities is the Bolt of Gransax, a Lightning-infused weapon boasting an extraordinary Ash of War for distance attacks. Another viable option is the Sacred Relic Blade, which shines due to its Holy attribute. Any Holy spell suitable for long-range casting will further enhance its potential.
