As a long-time fan of survival horror games, I can hardly contain my excitement for Dead by Daylight’s upcoming 2v8 mode! The idea of eight survivors taking on two killers working together is not only a thrilling new challenge but also a testament to the game’s enduring popularity.

On July 25, players can look forward to a unique survivor horror experience in “Dead by Daylight” unlike any other. Previewed during the Anniversary livestream in 2024, the anticipated 2vs8 mode will make its debut in this game. In this fresh take on survival gameplay, a team of eight survivors must collaborate to outwit and survive against two coordinating killers, aiming to sacrifice as many survivors as possible to appease the ominous Entity.

I’m thrilled to share that starting July 25 and running through August 8, Dead by Daylight fans like me will have the opportunity to experience the new 2v8 mode! During this limited-time event, we can select any survivor, killer, or map currently offered in the game. Afterward, Behavior Interactive will gather player feedback to refine and enhance the mode’s gameplay. The team at Dead by Daylight is dedicated to making 2v8 mode a permanent feature of the game in the future.

Beauchamp excitedly shared his insights about the long-awaited game mode update, explaining that it centers around the excitement of having ten players engaged simultaneously. Enhancements have been made to the killer’s abilities, while hooks are now replaced with cages for trapping survivors. Additionally, survivor perks are swapped out for selectable classes, enabling players to concentrate on distinct roles within their team: fixing generators, healing teammates, escaping from danger, or stalking and tracking down the killer.

In the restricted 2vs8 mode, where only survivors can participate, there are five different killers for players to choose from.

  • The Wraith
  • The Hillbilly
  • The Huntress
  • The Nurse

DbD 2v8 Maps and Team Powers

In this revised version: For every assassin, there are fresh Team Powers bestowed upon them. These powers either amplify their teammates or augment their own capabilities when in close proximity. There will initially be five maps accessible during the 2vs8 mode’s debut: Azarov’s Resting Place, The Suffocation Pit, The Disturbed Ward, The Thompson House, and Mother’s Dwelling. These maps have expanded to accommodate the intense new gameplay.
