As a dedicated gamer with countless hours spent in the Call of Duty universe, I can’t help but feel a rush of excitement upon hearing that Warzone Season 5 will bring us the iconic Superstore POI and the legendary STG-44!
In recent game seasons, Warzone has been filled with nostalgic content that fans have enjoyed, and this trend will persist with the introduction of a legendary Call of Duty weapon and a beloved Verdansk landmark in Season 5.
On July 16, Call of Duty announced through a social media post (X-post) that Superstore, a well-known landmark in Verdansk, will be added to Urzikstan starting July 24 during Season 5. Players also spotted a sneak peek of the iconic STG-44 weapon in the teaser image.
As a gamer, I can describe the Superstore Point of Interest (POI) as a towering structure with a familiar supermarket vibe that greets me at the beginning of each match. It’s an expansive location filled with loot ripe for the taking, making it an appealing target for enemies and myself alike. The Superstore POI sets the stage for intense encounters early in the game.

In Plunder mode, this region is planned to be the primary draw, much like how the original version of Warzone captivated players.
In the video sneak peek, the landing site will keep its distinctive design. It will undergo some enhancements for a superior player experience, such as internal and external zip lines for easier access. The area will be noticeably brighter than before, facilitating smoother enemy detection for players.
Simultaneously, the STG-44 is slated to reappear in MW3 and Warzone following its previous outing in Vanguard and Caldera’s Warzone. This iconic Assault Rifle, beloved by many players, has graced over ten games within the series.

In order to enhance the sense of nostalgia, the plot of Season 5 is planned to include Valeria Garza as the primary antagonist for Task Force 141, as seen in the Modern Warfare 2 campaign. With the introduction of new Operators in past seasons, it’s reasonable to expect that there will be themed content tied to Valeria.
As a long-time fan of this game, I’m absolutely thrilled about the upcoming fifth update. With the exciting announcement of a WWE crossover, I can hardly contain my enthusiasm! Plus, the addition of cel-shaded map variants for multiplayer is an unexpected yet delightful surprise. I’ve been playing this game for years and have grown to love its unique features, so I can only imagine how much more enjoyable it will be with these new additions. I can’t wait to dive back in and explore all that this update has to offer! So, mark my words, fellow gamers – this is not an update to miss out on.
