In the game “Once Human” by Chalk Peak, there’s a place named Furnace Lair where players can choose to embark on an extra mission called “Exploring Furnace Lair.” During this mission, gamers will be required to locate a Mystical Crate, fight off common adversaries, search for Weapon and Armor Boxes, and trigger a Rift Anchor. Some fans might find these tasks challenging, which is why we’ve created this helpful guide for those struggling with the “Explore Furnace Lair” quest in “Once Human.”

As a gamer, I’d describe this guide in my own words like this: In this game, I refer to the northern part of the map, where farming is predominant, as the “Northern Furnace Lair.” And, the southern half of the map, known for its industry, I call the “Southern Furnace Lair.”

Look for Mystical Crates

On the southern edge of Furnace Lair’s south side, there stands a warehouse with numerous train cars stacked inside. If players brave enough to climb atop these cars, they will discover a metal ramp leading up to the rafters. Their reward for reaching this height is the elusive Mystical Crate, hidden in that lofty area.

Outside the warehouse to the north, you’ll find several red train cars with a purple crystal on top of one. Touching this crystal will leave a crystal trail, guiding you towards another Mystical Crate. However, opening it might not advance your progress in the exploration quest within “Once Human”.

Defeat Normal Enemies

In the game “Once Human,” players are encouraged to select their preferred weapons and take down a total of 12 adversaries located in Furnace Lair.

Find Weapon and Armor Crates

For this mission, you’ll find a few crates holding weapons and armor. Here are the spots where you can locate three of them:

  • Gear Crate 1: There is a red train car inside the warehouse building on the south side of southern Furnace Lair. Players can get into this car through its top, and they will find a Gear Crate inside of it.
  • Gear Crate 2: There is a multistory building in the southwest corner of Furnace Lair, and players should use the stairs on its east exterior wall to access the second floor. Once inside, fans of open-world games should turn left, walk forward to enter a small room, and open the Gear Crate that they encounter.
  • Weapon Crate: There is a barn with a cellar near the northeast corner of northern Furnace Lair, and players can access that underground area via a staircase that is inside the structure. At the bottom of the stairs, fans of survival games should turn right, follow the corridor to reach a room in which a ritual has been performed, and loot the Weapon Crate that they find there.

Activate Rift Anchor

The Rift Anchor for the Furnace Lair is situated at the southern part of the map in the game. This location is indicated on the map as well. If a player can’t activate this anchor during “Once Human,” they should continue progressing through the game’s main storyline and then try again later.
