I was so excited to finally see *LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight* at Gamescom’s Opening Night Live! Not only did they show off a trailer, but Jonathan Smith from TT Games came on stage and said this game is going to be *the* ultimate Batman story. Apparently, it’s going to take us through Bruce Wayne’s whole life, from his tough childhood all the way through over eighty years of Batman history pulled from comics, movies, TV shows, and even other games. However, Smith believes this new LEGO Batman game will be his most satisfying project yet, offering a more complete and engaging world than any of his previous games.

Early reports suggested the new *LEGO Batman* game would feature a larger open world than *Arkham Knight*, and developers have now confirmed it will be richly detailed and dynamic. The team highlighted the incredible level of detail, including realistic rain effects on LEGO characters and detailed textures on their capes.
