This build is very simple to use, and here’s what you need to do when facing a boss:
- Use the War Paint Repkit
- Pop your Action Skill
- Fire your Vladof Assault Rifle
Here’s the core of what makes this build effective. It allows Harlowe’s Action Skill to hit enemies and explode, severely weakening bosses and boosting your fire rate. After using your Action Skill, your fast-firing Vladof Assault Rifle will quickly finish them off – you won’t even need the Penetrator Augment Knife! If you *do* have the knife, though, apply it before using the War Paint Repkit.
Best Weapons and Gear for Chroma Accelerator Harlowe
This build primarily focuses on two key elements, though you can customize the rest to your preference. We’ll provide a complete list of everything we use, along with where to find it, so you can get the most out of this build.
We primarily used two assault rifles: Lucian’s Flank (found in Meathead Riders, Old Scrape Ripper Drill Site, Cuspid Climb, and Terminus Range) or Aegon’s Dream (found in Horace, Horace’s Oversight, Hungering Plain, and Fadefields). The main benefit of both is their Vladof design with the Extra Barrel Alt-Fire, giving them an incredibly fast fire rate. Both are effective choices – Lucian’s Flank returns ammo on critical hits, while Aegon’s Dream deals both fire and ice damage. A fast-firing assault rifle is crucial for quickly defeating bosses.
If you want to shoot even faster, get the Shiny War Paint Repkit (found in Meathead Riders, Old Scrape Ripper Drill Site, Cuspid Climb, and Terminus Range). It offers some healing, but it’s most valuable for the boost it gives to your Fire Rate and Movement Speed. You can also improve your Fire Rate and damage with Enhancements. Look for Enhancements that work with Vladof-licensed parts, such as Box Magazine (which increases Fire Rate and magazine size) or Bullet Hose (which gives you a chance to fire an extra bullet with each shot).

When choosing a Class Mod, prioritize anything that boosts Skill Damage. We recommend the Skeptic Class Mod (from Callis, the Ripper Queen, Moon-Called Throne, Fallen Crown, or Carcadia Burn) not because of its skill bonuses, but because it recharges your Action Skill simply by shooting enemies while they have a Status Effect applied. This means you can quickly regain access to your abilities just by dealing damage.
The choice of Shield isn’t crucial, but we recommend Firewerks (with Splashzone, Riptide Grotto, Coastal Bonescape, and Fadefields) because visually seeing missiles fire when enemies are defeated makes it easier to manage enemy attacks. Any Shield will work, though. Similarly, Ordnance isn’t important since you won’t be using it much. However, if you want to maximize damage, you could use a Throwing Knife with the Damage Amp Payload and Penetrator Augment to boost critical hits and increase the damage enemies take. Just keep in mind that this is unnecessary and not required.
