In Hollow Knight: Silksong, you can permanently stop the Clawmaidens from appearing anywhere in the game’s world, Pharloom. This involves some tricky platforming in a hidden area, but successfully doing so removes one of the most frustrating enemies from the game.
Clawmaidens are unsettling enemies in *Hollow Knight: Silksong* described in the game’s story as being controlled by the Citadel. Players will first encounter them around the halfway point, specifically after beginning Act 2. While they aren’t the only enemies that hit hard and can take a lot of damage, they’re especially frustrating because they can steal Hornet’s Silk and use it against her with a powerful Silk Spear attack.
Silksong’s High Halls Hide a Way To Disable All Clawmaidens
According to TheGamer, players can actually defeat all of the Clawmaidens in *Hollow Knight: Silksong* relatively early in the game. This involves carefully exploring the High Halls area of The Citadel. Specifically, a hidden room in The Forum-a lower part of the map-allows players to move a cart under a leaking water source and then jump to a secret spot above it.
Although you don’t *need* a double jump to progress in *Hollow Knight: Silksong*, it’s essential for getting through a specific area in High Halls. If you haven’t learned the double jump yet, you’ll need to quickly visit Mount Fay, which is to the left of High Halls. Once Hornet has the double jump, she can jump over a cart and continue climbing through a creepy landscape until she reaches the Silk Nest.
How To Permanently Delete Clawmaidens in Hollow Knight: Silksong
- Obtain double jump
- Find the empty room with a cart in High Halls
- Push the cart beneath a stream of water leaking from the ceiling
- Double jump above and continue climbing
- Destroy the Silk Nest after reaching it
So, I’ve been digging into the lore of *Hollow Knight: Silksong*, and it looks like the Silk Nest isn’t just where the Clawmaidens get their power-it’s actually *why* they’re constantly hunting for Silk! Apparently, the Nest is driving their behavior. Which means if I can destroy it, I can finally stop those annoying Clawmaidens from showing up everywhere in Pharloom. That’s a huge relief, honestly!
Once the Clawmaidens are defeated, getting around the area becomes much easier and the High Halls challenge is less difficult. Exploring nearby places like the Choral Chambers is also a lot less stressful. Because the Silk Nest is so well-hidden, it’s likely the developers didn’t anticipate players finding it during their initial playthrough of *Hollow Knight: Silksong*.
