Elden Ring: How To Get The Banished Knight Armor Set

As a dedicated Elden Ring player with countless hours spent exploring the Lands Between, I can wholeheartedly affirm that this game is a true masterpiece when it comes to armor sets. Each one adds not only to your character’s appearance but also enhances their abilities in unique ways. Among these many options, none quite capture my heart like the Banished Knight Armor Set, particularly its two distinct versions: Altered and Unaltered.

In Elden Ring, you’ll never run out of options when it comes to armors in the Lands Between. Ranging from bulky suits for tank-type characters, agile medium armors for those who value speed, to magical robes for sorcerers, there’s an abundance of armor sets to discover!

One distinct option featuring multiple variations is the “Heavy Armor Set with an Attractive Twist.” If your existing heavy armor doesn’t align with your aesthetic preferences, this set stands out as one of the more visually appealing heavy armor options in the game, boasting equal or even superior effectiveness compared to most other sets.

Altered Version

Let’s clarify that there are two variations of the Banished Knight Armor Set: the Altered Version and the Unaltered Version. The key differences lie in their strength levels; the Altered Version is less powerful but can be acquired earlier in the game. Remember, however, that the greaves and gauntlets for both sets are identical.

You can find the Banished Knight Altered Set in a few locations, but the most accessible site to farm it is at the Rampart Tower Site of Grace inStormveil Castle of Limgrave. Once you fast-travel there (or just normally travel), walk through the back entrance, and go downstairs from the spiral staircase. You will see a Banished Knight with the armor you’re looking for. This is not a coincidence, kill the Banished Knight and see if he drops any of the Banished Knight armor pieces. If he doesn’t, don’t worry! You can simply fast-travel back to the Cathedral of Dragon Communion Site of Grace and do this repeatedly until you successfully acquire the full Altered Version of the Banished Knight Armor Set.

The Unaltered Version

In Elden Ring, you can’t obtain the original Banished Knight Armor Set until you’ve reached the Mountaintops of the Giants and unlocked that area. Once you’ve gained access to this chilly, barren region, travel northeast towards Castle Sol, which is located near the summit of the mountains.

You might be drawn to discover the tranquil rooftop at Castle Sol, referred to as the “Site of Grace.” Prior to encountering the knight, you could consider equipping either a Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot or a Silver Scarab Talisman to enhance your ability to locate items. Once you reach the Site of Grace:

  1. Run south to reach the elevator or ledge that you can peer off of.
  2. From here, use a bow or any ranged weapon to shoot the Banished Knight from a distance. This will cause the knight to teleport to players and allow you to fell him.
  3. After defeating him, return to the site of grace to rest (but do not teleport, or else you will lose your buffs)
  4. Rinse and repeat this process until you have collected all the complete Unaltered Armor Set.

I’ve had my fair share of adventures in gaming, and let me tell you, there are some things you just can’t change on your own or with the help of Boc the Seamster. If you want to acquire that coveted set, you’ll have to face those enemies head-on and defeat them in battle. Trust me, it won’t be easy, but the satisfaction of achieving your goal will make it all worthwhile. So gear up, take a deep breath, and get ready for the fight of your life!
