Kick Has Banned Destiny

Kick Has Banned Destiny

Highlights

  • Destiny has been banned from Kick for “hate speech.”
  • His account suspension will be in effect until the tail end of July 2024.
  • The ban is possibly related to Destiny’s controversial comments over the attempted assassination of former President Trump.

As a long-time gamer and follower of the streaming scene, I’ve watched Destiny’s rise to prominence with a mix of admiration and apprehension. He was one of the pioneers in live streaming video games full-time, and his political commentary has become just as influential, if not more so, than his gaming content. His confrontational style and tendency to push boundaries have made him both loved and hated by audiences on various platforms.

Steven Kenneth Bonnell II, commonly recognized online as Destiny, has announced that he has been barred from using Kick due to allegations of “offensive language.” The streamer shared this information through a controversial update on his social media platforms.

Today, Destiny is widely recognized not just for his early success in video game streaming on Twitch, but also for his political commentary. As a self-proclaimed social democrat and vocal supporter of liberal and progressive politics, he frequently engages in heated debates with other online personalities, earning him a contentious reputation due to his confrontational style and provocative statements.

Destiny Temporarily Kicked From Kick Over ‘Hate Speech’

After being banned indefinitely from Twitch in early 2023, Destiny joined Kick as an alternative platform around 16 months later. In the late evening hours ET on July 16, 2022, he received his first ban from Kick. The streamer confirmed this news through a tweet, which contained a screenshot of his suspension email from Kick. The email indicated that the suspension would last until July 31. Destiny’s tweet sparked intense reactions on Twitter, with many users commenting on it due to his statement that he will never apologize to American conservatives, whom he referred to disrespectfully.

Destiny’s Kick Ban Is Possibly Related to His Trump Assassination Attempt Comments

I recently made some comments about the attempted assassination of former U.S. President Donald Trump at his rally in Pennsylvania. Some viewers seemed to take issue with my words, particularly my jokes regarding the death of Corey Comperatore, a man tragically killed during the incident.

Before this, Destiny made an appearance on the most recent episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored. He declined to criticize those celebrating an assassination attempt and argued with Florida Republican Congressman Cory Mills regarding political viewpoints. Twitter had previously removed Destiny’s monetization due to his inflammatory comments, as acknowledged by Elon Musk, the platform’s proprietor. According to unconfirmed social media reports from alleged followers, Destiny conveyed similar ideas during recent Twitch streams, such as urging individuals not to grieve for Comperatore. Game Rant could not authenticate these allegations.

There’s a strong divide in opinions among online users regarding Destiny’s ban. Some individuals have urged him to tone down his speech, considering it inflammatory, while others view his Kick ban as an indication of biased treatment. They believe that the platform is ignoring more harmful actions from users holding opposing ideologies.
