As a huge WoW fan, I’m so excited to hear that Blizzard is bringing back most of the artifact weapon appearances from the original *Legion* expansion with *Legion Remix*! It sounds like if you missed out on them back then – unless they were earned through the Mage Tower or PvP – you’ll have another chance to unlock those awesome looks for your weapons. It’s great they’re making these things permanently available to earn for our accounts!
The popular expansion Legion is returning to World of Warcraft soon as Legion Remix, launching with Patch 11.2.5 on October 7. Players have been eager to find out if they’ll be able to earn the artifact weapons from the original expansion during this limited-time event, but there’s been some confusion about whether that will be possible.
Most Artifact Weapon Appearances are In WoW: Legion Remix
Blizzard has announced that all color variations of the artifact weapons from the *Legion* expansion will be available to earn in the new *Legion Remix* game mode. Once unlocked, these weapon appearances will be account-wide, meaning you can use them on any of your characters in the live game.
| Artifact Appearances | Obtained | Confirmed for Legion Remix |
|---|---|---|
| Classic | Legion/Class Campaign | ✔ |
| Upgraded | Class Campaign, Archaeology | ✔ |
| Valorous | Balance of Power, Achievements | ✔ |
| War-torn | PvP | X |
| Challenging | Mage Tower | X |
| Hidden | PvE Drops | ✔ |
This list doesn’t include the special versions of artifact weapons earned through difficult solo challenges (the Mage Tower) or player-versus-player combat. Because *World of Warcraft: Legion Remix* won’t have the Mage Tower or much PvP content, players won’t be able to get these versions, making them permanently unavailable.
Players are wondering how they’ll unlock special appearances for classes like Paladins and Mages in *Legion Remix*. Previously, earning these appearances meant leaving the Broken Isles, which won’t be possible in the event except in limited cases. Blizzard may have adjusted how to get them to work with these restrictions, but we’ll have to wait for *WoW: Legion Remix* to begin to know for sure.
Okay, so Patch 11.2.5 is dropping, and it’s pretty cool! Besides the awesome *Legion Remix*, we’re getting a few other nice things in *World of Warcraft*. It doesn’t add any new story bits for *The War Within* just yet, but it *does* let us create five extra characters per account, which is amazing! They’ve also tweaked the Cooldown Manager to be better, and there’s a ‘Turbo-Boost’ to help us level up faster in Season 3. Plus, this is the second-to-last update for *The War Within*, so *Midnight* is getting closer and closer – I can’t wait!
