Warzone players sick of Rebirth Island Ranked as Season 5 skips Urzikstan again

As a long-time Warzone player, I can’t help but feel frustrated and disappointed with the ongoing situation regarding Ranked Play in the game. For the third season in a row, we’ve been confined to Ranked Resurgence on Rebirth Island, while Urzikstan, the map where competitive playlists once thrived, remains untouched.

In the fifth season of Warzone, Ranked Play is held for the third consecutive time on the smaller Resurgence map instead of the expansive Urzikstan. Players have expressed their frustration, stating that they are growing weary of the delay in bringing competitive mode to the larger map.

With the Season 2 update, Ranked Play made a comeback in Warzone after being absent when Modern Warfare 3 launched. Initially, this mode was only available for Ranked Resurgence and could only be played on Fortune’s Keep. From Season 3 onwards, it expanded to include Rebirth Island as well.

Since then, players have eagerly anticipated the arrival of a competitive playlist on Urzikstan, similar to its implementation on Al Mazrah. The developers have assured us that they intend to introduce Ranked mode to the larger map as compensation for the reported postponement of Verdansk’s return in Black Ops Cold War.

After learning that Ranked Resurgence will return in Season 5, many players have expressed their frustration with the delay, as evident in the comments on CharlieIntel’s post announcing the news.

In the upcoming fifth season, Warzone’s ranked mode will continue to take place on Rebirth Island. As for the big map ranked play, there’s been no specific announcement yet; it’s only mentioned that it may come later in the year on Urzikstan.

I can’t help but wonder why nobody seems excited about playing ranked mode in Rebirth. And to make things even more disappointing, when will we finally get larger maps for ranked play? It really is a letdown.

Some critics referred to the absence of a large-scale map in Ranked as a significant disappointment. Notably, the prestigious World Series of Warzone for top players has incorporated Urzikstan into their competitions.

Among fans, there’s a common sentiment that playing Rebirth Island has become less engaging because of its smaller scale. Some had assumed that Ranked Resurgence was merely a temporary replacement until Rebirth Island went back to being a part of the main Battle Royale experience.

One person suggested swapping the location to Vondel for more variety and excitement in their argument, while another expressed frustration by saying, “Three seasons on the same map? Jeez. I can’t believe they only gave us a single season on Fortune Keep.”

The anticipated arrival of Ranked Play in Urzikstan is yet to be confirmed with a specific date, but there’s growing evidence that it may debut together with Black Ops 6. This upcoming title is also slated to bring significant modifications to Warzone’s movement system and other gameplay aspects.
