Pokemon GO: How to Get Armored Mewtwo

As a dedicated Pokemon GO player with years of experience under my belt, I can tell you that obtaining Armored Mewtwo was one of the most thrilling and challenging experiences I’ve had in this game. The first time I heard about this special version of Mewtwo being available as a raid boss back in 2019, I was ecstatic. I remember rounding up a group of fellow trainers from my local community to take on the challenge together.

As a devoted Pokémon GO fan, I’m often pondering if we’ll ever get the chance to add the legendary Armored Mewtwo to our collections. Introduced in the original Pokémon series through the anime and movies, this distinctive variation of Mewtwo first graced our screens back in the day. While many fellow fans and I eagerly anticipate its arrival in our augmented reality adventure, we can’t help but wonder if obtaining it might prove to be a challenging quest.

An unconventional method is required to capture Armored Mewtwo in Pokemon GO, but rest assured, it’s possible for players to obtain this elusive Pokemon. Here’s the simplified way to go about it:

In contrast to what some Pokemon GO enthusiasts anticipated, Armored Mewtwo made its debut in the game back in 2019 as a formidable adversary in 5-Star Raids. This elusive Pokemon graced us with its presence from July 10 to July 31, 2019. Players were given the opportunity to engage and eventually capture it following a successful raid battle against this exceptional creature.

As a long-time Pokemon trainer with years of experience battling various types and levels of creatures, I can tell you that encountering a Psychic-type Pokemon with a CP of up to 2276 and impressive stats of 214 HP, 182 ATK, and 278 DEF is no joke. Its type makes it vulnerable to Bug, Dark, and Ghost-attacks, but when boosted by Windy weather, it becomes even more formidable.

Starting from the Raid Battles in 2019 and 2020, Armored Mewtwo has not been available for direct catching. However, there’s an alternative way to obtain it now through a Special Trade. By trading a unique Pokemon with a friend, you can acquire an Armored Mewtwo. The Stardust cost is reduced if the trainer is your Best Friend. Keep in mind that for a Pokemon to be considered special for trading purposes, it should be rare or unique.

  • Legendary Pokemon
  • Shiny Pokemon
  • Special Pokemon Forms (Pokemon that are only available during events, like Straw Hat Pikachu)
  • Pokemon that you haven’t yet found in your Pokedex

In simpler terms, if you own a unique Pokemon not currently obtainable in the game, you can utilize it as trade bait to get an Armored Mewtwo from another player. But securing that player’s Armored Mewtwo might be challenging.
