An Optional Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Location Could Preview Part 3 Wutai

Highlights

  • In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, players can explore a larger world and find secrets using the Tiny Bronco.
  • Gilgamesh Island in the game offers the Gilgamesh summon materia, resembling the upcoming Wutai Village.
  • Wutai Village’s Japanese-inspired architecture may be a key location in the final entry of the trilogy.

As a dedicated fan of the Final Fantasy series, I have been eagerly awaiting the release of Square Enix’s latest offering: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Having played through the first installment in the trilogy and being thoroughly impressed by its faithfulness to the original while also incorporating new elements, I was thrilled to discover that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth would allow me to explore a larger world and uncover hidden secrets using the Tiny Bronco.

Square Enix’s “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” is the highly-anticipated second installment in the “Final Fantasy 7 Remake” saga from Square Enix. This game carries on the adventure of Cloud Strife and his companions as they go beyond Midgar in their quest to confront Sephiroth and prevent Shinra from misusing the planet’s Lifestream. In contrast to its predecessor, “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” expands the world significantly, providing players with the opportunity to explore areas previously unreachable using the Tiny Bronco. The game is filled with hidden gems and optional locations that can only be accessed via the Tiny Bronco. One such optional location may offer a sneak peek of a place alluded to in “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth,” but will most likely be fully unveiled in the final part of the trilogy.

As a gamer in the world of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, I embark on an exciting quest to gather all the elusive Protorelics. Once this challenge is accomplished, I eagerly hop aboard the Tiny Bronco and set sail northward from Under Junon port. My destination: Gilgamesh Island, a place shrouded in intrigue.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s Gilgamesh Island Resembles Wutai Village

Final Fantasy 7’s Wutai Village Resembles Japanese Architecture

In the classic “Final Fantasy 7,” during the “Reuniting a Prodigal Daughter” mission, players have the opportunity to explore Wutai Village. Although it’s an optional destination in “Final Fantasy 7,” a visit is highly recommended due to its captivating Japanese-style architecture and geography. It’s believed that the famous Itsukushima island significantly influenced its design.

Wutai Village’s structures bear a strong resemblance to those found all over Tsushima island in the popular action-adventure game “Ghost of Tsushima” by Sucker Punch. Although Wutai Village is referenced in “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth,” players cannot currently explore it. It’s expected that players will be able to visit Wutai Village in Part 3 of the “Final Fantasy 7 Remake” series.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s Gilgamesh Island Takes on a Similar Appearance to Wutai Village

Gilgamesh Island, unique to “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth,” is not accessible in the original game. However, its design appears inspired by Wutai Village or Japanese architecture. The buildings on Gilgamesh Island bear a striking resemblance to those in “Final Fantasy 7’s” Wutai Village, yet they showcase superior textures and colors that the original game lacked. Consequently, Gilgamesh Island represents an excellent approximation of Wutai Village for players until they can actually visit it in the upcoming installments of “Final Fantasy 7 Remake.”

Given that Wutai Village is hinted to appear in the upcoming “Final Fantasy 7 Remake” game based on its brief mention in “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth,” players will likely have the opportunity to visit this scenic location as they travel with Cid’s airship, the Highwind, in the final installment of the remake series.
