As a long-time fan of multiplayer fighting games and the beloved characters from various franchises under Warner Bros., I am beyond excited for the upcoming Season 2 of MultiVersus! The recent EVO 2024 announcement has rekindled my enthusiasm for this platform fighter, especially with the reveal of Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice as the new playable characters.
MultiVersus announced two new characters that will be added to its roster. MultiVersus has a diverse roster of characters from various franchises, ranging from popular cartoons to powerful superheroes and villains.
At EVO 2024, I was thrilled to learn about MultiVersus’ Season 2: Back in Time, releasing on July 23. As a dedicated gamer, I can’t contain my excitement for the arrival of MultiVersus’ highly anticipated Ranked Mode! In this mode, I’ll have the chance to engage in intense 1v1 and 2v2 battles against other players, all while earning valuable leaderboard points. These points will unlock exclusive rank-based rewards that I can show off to my friends. Additionally, the new Water Tower map is a must-try for me. Inspired by the legendary water tower at Warner Bros. Studio in Burbank, California, it’s going to be an incredible experience to explore and master this iconic battleground.
In the second season of MultiVersus, which explores the concept of time, two beloved throwback characters are introduced: Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice. Gamers can harness Samurai Jack’s supernatural katana and nimble agility to knock out opponents and send them soaring off the battlefield. Classified as a Bruiser, Samurai Jack comes with an additional skin called “Righteous Warrior Jack,” which will be accessible once Season 2 goes live. In contrast, Beetlejuice, who made his debut in the ’80s and is known for his formidable and amusing demeanor, was hinted at during EVO this year but the specifics of his combat role remain undisclosed as of now.

A large number of MultiVersus fans are looking forward to encountering Samurai Jack and Beetlejuice in the upcoming season. Some have even suggested including Samurai Jack’s Scotsman or Aku as new additions, while others are thrilled at the prospect of witnessing a showdown between Beetlejuice and Joker. Additionally, observant players have noticed possible hints of Yakko in Samurai Jack’s gameplay trailer, potentially indicating that MultiVersus may soon introduce Animaniacs characters.
In its second season, MultiVersus clearly demonstrates its excitement to bring new content and characters to the platform fighter game, following a lengthy break. Given Warner Bros.’ vast array of franchises, Player First Games has an abundant source of material at their disposal to keep the game thriving and captivate dedicated players. Let’s hope that MultiVersus continues to incorporate popular characters in future updates to satisfy fans’ demands.
