As a long-time fan of the Dragon Ball series, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and nostalgia as we get closer to the release of Dragon Ball DAIMA. The latest trailer and character designs have given us a glimpse into this new world that Akira Toriyama created before his passing.
The Instagram account of the upcoming “Dragon Ball DAIMA” anime shared the character designs for the first time, following the unveiling of a new trailer and key visual with an October premiere date. This marks the last project by “Dragon Ball” creator Akira Toriyama before his passing in March.
In addition to unveiling the new character designs, the most recent trailer also provides some background information on these newly introduced figures. The upcoming anime series, “Dragon Ball DAIMA,” is scheduled to premiere in October.

After the unveiling of Dragon Ball DAIMA, there’s been a character trailer for Goku, yet details about the show have been scarce. The marketing strategy has left many wanting more. Last Friday, a new trailer emerged, introducing some fresh faces. From left to right, we see: Gomuh, believed to be the enigmatic figure observing Goku and others during their battle against Majin Buu; an unidentified “Masked Majin”; Glorio; followed by smaller versions of Goku, Supreme Kai, Kibito, Vegeta, and Piccolo. Intriguingly, Piccolo is the same size as the others when in his diminutive form, as seen in the earlier Dragon Ball DAIMA teaser. Some other cast members were shown briefly in the initial trailer, all reduced in size by an unexplained effect.
In the world of “Dragon Ball Xenoverse” games, certain spectators have pointed out a likeness between Glorio and Mira. This observation holds some weight given that they both appear with a sibling of the infamous antagonist, Demon King Dabura. As for the forthcoming series, “Dragon Ball DAIMA,” all we know at present is that the voice actor bringing Goku’s legacy to life will reprise her role as the beloved character. In due time, we’ll likely uncover more details about “Dragon Ball DAIMA.” Set to air in October, this anime addition joins an impressive roster of premieres for Fall 2023.
