As a long-time Marvel fan and avid gamer, I can’t help but get excited about the prospect of a Deadpool-Guardians of the Galaxy crossover. The fan art circulating online, featuring Deadpool and Wolverine with the beloved Guardians, has only fueled my anticipation.

Marvel enthusiasts, such as Ryan Reynolds among them, have long expressed their desire for a meeting between Deadpool and the Guardians of the Galaxy. A creative fan has now translated that wish into stunning visual form.

Deadpool and Guardians of the Galaxy are among the well-loved superhero movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Both are a success and have gained their fandom. Each also spun two more sequels after the first film was released, with the third iteration of Deadpool, Deadpool & Wolverine, coming to theaters in a few weeks. Since both franchises are a hit, some fans want to see Deadpool with the Guardians of the Galaxy and one creative fan satisfies this fantasy with a poster.

Boss Logic posted an enticing edit of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 poster on Instagram. In this version, Deadpool and Wolverine made an appearance among Gamora, Star-Lord, Mantis, Drax, Rocket, Nebula, Groot, Cosmo the Spacedog, and Kraglin. The two newcomers appeared to be fond of Rocket, with Deadpool cradling him. “Aww…. He’s got a soft spot for you…. Can we adopt him?” read the caption. However, given Rocket’s fiery temperament and sarcastic nature, it’s doubtful he’d return their affection if they ever crossed paths. Nonetheless, the prospect of these iconic characters sharing the same screen is a thrilling prospect for fans who eagerly anticipate the big-screen encounter between Deadpool and Rocket, among others.

It’s plausible that there will be a meeting of the minds between Deadpool and the Guardians of the Galaxy. This possibility gains strength due to Reynolds’ expressed desire for such a collaboration, and Gunn’s positive response to Deadpool 2. In 2018, Gunn, the director and writer of Guardians of the Galaxy, took to Twitter to share his enjoyment of Deadpool 2. Reynolds reacted by proposing a crossover, with the simple query “Crossover?” Fans have eagerly responded to this suggestion, as evidenced by the widespread appeal of fan art depicting the imagined team-up.

The alliance of “Deadpool” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” films is an exciting prospect. Picture this: the merciless and irreverent Deadpool clashing with the quirky Guardians – Rocket, the wise-cracking raccoon; Groot, the sentient tree; Mantis, the empathic alien; Star-Lord, the charming leader; and Drax, the comically serious warrior. Their bickering over insignificant matters while taking down a villain on the silver screen is an entertaining prospect for audiences. Currently, only Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord has been confirmed to reappear in the MCU. His return in “Deadpool & Wolverine” is a possibility since several cameos are expected. Additionally, rumors suggest that Karen Gillan may reprise her role as Nebula in “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” which could potentially lead to her appearance in “Deadpool & Wolverine.”

Deadpool & Wolverine will hit theaters on July 26, 2024.
