Konami producer Noriaki Okamura confirmed at Tokyo Game Show 2025 that work on *Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2* is ongoing. He explained that because the first collection was numbered, fans understandably anticipate a follow-up compilation.
Released in October 2023, *Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1* includes updated versions of the first three *Metal Gear Solid* games, as well as *Metal Gear*, *Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake*, and *Snake’s Revenge*. Each game comes with digital extras like story summaries and character profiles, and the collection also features two digital graphic novels presented as videos. While Konami is still working on the next *Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection* volume, they recently asked *Metal Gear* fans for their opinions through an online survey before the Tokyo Game Show.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 Is Still On Konami’s To-Do List
As a huge *Metal Gear* fan, I was really hoping for an update on *Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2* at Tokyo Game Show 2025. Konami addressed the question during their show, and unfortunately, it sounds like we’ll be waiting a while longer. One of the developers, Okamura-san, acknowledged that fans are expecting a second collection since the first was labeled ‘Vol. 1,’ which is totally fair! He asked us to be patient and said they’ll share more news when they have it, so we just need to hang tight for now. I’m still excited, but definitely a little bummed it’s not coming out anytime soon!
A major challenge for *Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2* is bringing *Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots* to modern consoles and PCs. *MGS4* was originally built for the PlayStation 3’s unique Cell processor, which makes it particularly difficult to port to other systems. Konami’s Yuji Koreeda mentioned that work on *Master Collection Vol. 2* happened alongside the development of *Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater*.

Konami hasn’t announced when we’ll hear more about *Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2*. While fans are successfully finding ways to play PS3 games on PS5 through emulation, it’s still unclear what Konami’s plans are for the next collection.
