Heihachi Mishima Is Returning to Tekken as DLC Fighter

As a long-time Tekken fan and fervent admirer of Heihachi Mishima‘s indomitable spirit, I couldn’t contain my excitement when Katsuhiro Harada made the shocking announcement at EVO 2024 that the old man himself would be returning to the game as a DLC fighter in Tekken 8.

At EVO 2024 in Las Vegas, an unexpected announcement was made: Heihachi Mishima, long believed to have perished (as we were led to believe by Harada), is making a stunning comeback as the third DLC fighter for Tekken 8. Katsuhiro Harada revealed that contrary to previous beliefs, Heihachi didn’t meet his end when he was thrown into a volcano at the conclusion of Tekken 7.

Heihachi Returns

In an awe-inspiring sneak peek for Tekken 8, gamers learn that Heihachi Mishima will make a comeback in the game as a downloadable content figure.

In Tekken 7’s finale, Heihachi was thrown into an active volcano by his son. Amazingly, he has returned with undiminished vitality. His hair and moustache miraculously escaped the volcanic flames’ scorching heat, leaving one in awe of his resilience. At this stage in life, Heihachi could be considered senior, yet he adamantly clings to life, enduring all forms of harm with nonchalance and emerging stronger each time.

Based on the current release pattern, it’s likely that he will join Tekken 8 as a new DLC fighter around October or November. At the moment, players are anticipating the arrival of Lidia. Earlier in the year, Eddy was unveiled as the game’s first additional fighter.
