Tips & tricks for first night in 7 Days to Die

During your initial night in 7 Days to Die, you’ll establish your survival plan which significantly influences your progress in the early stages of the game.

During your adventure, remember to prioritize the following: Your health, endurance, water supply, and food. Your food and water levels decrease when you perform strenuous activities or go for extended periods without replenishing them. If these levels reach zero, your character will perish.

Since your priority must be these four stats, here’s what you’ll need to consider to survive.

Day-Night cycle

In “7 Days to Die,” the virtual day runs for 24 hours, with sunlight emerging at 8 a.m. and disappearing at 8 p.m. Keep in mind this detail as you venture out for supplies, as undead creatures become increasingly aggressive during the night hours.

Zombies

Having spent countless hours immersed in the thrilling world of zombie video games, I can confidently tell you that there are certain dangers you must steer clear of at all costs. In this specific game, there exist four distinct types of zombies: Normal, Tough, Special, and Animal.

At night, I shudder at the thought of zombies stirring in the darkness, their hunger for survivors driving them forward. They possess an uncanny ability to sense our presence and are drawn to any beacon of light. My heart races as I hunker down within the safety of my base, but even this meager fortification isn’t enough to deter them. With relentless determination, they claw and gnash at walls, determined to breach the barrier that separates us. The air is heavy with dread as I hold my breath, praying for the dawn.

As someone who has spent countless hours battling hordes of the undead, I can tell you that climbing ladders can be a lifesaver in these situations. When you find yourself surrounded by zombies, it’s essential to keep your wits about you and use every advantage at your disposal. Climbing a ladder may seem like an unlikely solution, but trust me, it buys you precious time.

Resources

As an excited new player of 7 Days to Die preparing for my first night, it’s essential to collect Wood, Stone, Cloth, Rocks, and other essential materials. These resources will come in handy when crafting necessary items to defend against the hordes of zombies that may attack during the night.

While navigating the map and engaging with bushes, you’ll come across these items; transforming grass into fiber is an option, or you can search vehicles and deceased individuals, as well as abandoned structures for them.

First weapons

It’s not essential but but if you can’t acquire a firearm right away, consider making a simple weapon using stones or sticks instead.

You can get Wood by punching trees and then turning that material into Wood Planks. Then, you can turn it into Plywood, and then into Sticks. You can also transform them into Pointed Sticks, which will be your first weapon and defense mechanism in the game.

If you’d like to utilize rocks, you can easily convert them into stones. This process is beneficial as you can then construct a block or forge using the stones. Additionally, you have the option to split these stones into smaller pieces and subsequently transform them into sharp stones. These sharp stones are essential for creating a stone axe.

To get a Stone Axe, you can combine a Stick, a Sharp Stone, and Plant Fiber.

Your first base

You have several options for setting up your Starter Base, however, keep in mind that it’s essential to be near essential resources like water and food sources. Utilize your map to discover suitable locations, and consider settling in areas with some urban development as they often provide easier access to these necessities.

Once you’ve reached your destination, establish a secure shelter for yourself by reinforcing the spot where you plan to camp for the night. Create torches by binding sticks with fabric and place them around the perimeter of your campsite. These torches will not only keep zombies from appearing but also slow them down when they approach, allowing you to effectively defend against them when they’re more vulnerable.
