A recent chart detailing the Pokemon TCG is highlighting the most valuable cards from the Mega Evolution expansion, with two particularly rare cards now selling for over $400. The Mega Evolution set has brought significant updates to the game for both players and collectors, with the reintroduction of Mega Pokemon being a key feature. The Pokemon TCG also debuted a new card rarity with this set, introducing two cards designated as “Mega Hyper Rare.” As a result, some of these cards are now commanding very high prices.
Mega Evolution brought many sought-after cards for collectors, including beautiful new Special Illustration Rare cards. Within this expansion, six of the ten new Mega Pokemon got their own Special Illustration Rare versions, showcasing popular choices like Mega Absol and Mega Venusaur. The set also introduced Mega Hyper Rare cards, giving the two Pokemon featured on the cover – Mega Gardevoir and Mega Lucario – impressive gold versions. Some of the Pokemon TCG’s latest cards are now selling for significant amounts of money.
A recent chart from Twitter account Pokemon Drop & Restock Alerts shows how much the ten most valuable cards from the Mega Evolution set are selling for. The two most expensive cards are the Mega Hyper Rares: Mega Lucario ex, currently valued at $541.42, and Mega Gardevoir ex at $489.16. Within the Special Illustration Rares, Mega Gardevoir is the priciest at $283.35, closely followed by Mega Lucario ex at $277.59. Completing the Top 5 is Mega Venusaur ex, which sells for around $217.60.

The most valuable cards in the Mega Evolution set are generally found near the top, as expected. Interestingly, only one Trainer card makes the Top 10 – the Special Illustration Rare version of Lillie’s Determination, currently valued at $180.26. This card is also predicted to be very strong in competitive Pokémon TCG play, and is likely to become a frequently used Supporter card because it allows a player to discard their hand and draw new cards.
The Mega Evolution expansion has brought much more than just valuable cards to the Pokemon TCG, introducing several strong new ways to play. Decks built around Grass-type Pokemon have become significantly better thanks to this set. The card “Forest of Vitality” lets players evolve their Grass Pokemon sooner, and Meganium’s Ability helps them quickly build up resources. Mega Gardevoir ex will also fit well into existing Gardevoir decks, giving players another powerful option to win the game later on.
