Pokemon GO Reveals Gigantamax Debut for Wild Area 2025

Okay, so Pokemon GO just dropped some info about their next big event, Wild Area: Global, and it sounds awesome! They’re even introducing a totally new Gigantamax Pokemon! As someone who plays Pokemon GO regularly, it’s cool to see them constantly adding fresh content and events for us to jump into, and this Wild Area: Global looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun.

The very first Wild Area event in Pokemon GO happened in 2024, introducing a lot of fresh content to the popular mobile game. Powerful Pokemon, which could have increased Attack, Defense, and HP stats, were introduced, along with Safari Balls to assist in catching them. But the main attraction for many players was the arrival of Toxtricity and its Dynamax form, which could be encountered by winning 6-star Max Raid battles. Now, almost a year later, Pokemon GO is bringing the Wild Area back for 2025.

Pokemon GO Wild Area: Global Adds Gigantamax Grimmsnarl

Originally revealed in August, Pokemon GO is starting a Wild Area event. It begins on November 7th in Nagasaki City, Japan, and will then be available worldwide starting November 15th. During the event, players can once again encounter powerful Pokemon and use Safari Balls. You’ll also have the opportunity to battle Team GO Rocket and try to catch Shadow Darkrai. Keep an eye out for special Pokemon appearing in the wild, and you might even find a Bewear wearing a wilderness cape or Shadow Cresselia in raids.

For the first time, Pokemon GO Wild Area: Global will introduce Impidimp, Morgrem, and Grimmsnarl, and even their rare shiny forms! Impidimp first appeared in Pokemon Sword & Shield, which also brought the Gigantamax feature to the series. Because of this, Grimmsnarl will have a Gigantamax version available during Wild Area: Global in special 6-Star Max Battles on November 15th and 16th.

I’m so hyped about the new Grimmsnarl dropping in Pokemon GO, but there’s even more potentially awesome news! A leak suggests that Poke Coins might be included in the Pokemon GO October 2025 Pass. If it’s true, this would be the first time we could earn the premium currency as part of a season pass, which is a great alternative to buying them or holding gyms. Speaking of gyms, while you *can* get coins from them, it’s only 50 a day, so it’s a bit slow. The leak says the Free pass will have 400 coins, but the Premium pass will give us a whopping 1,400!
