As a long-time player of The First Descendant, I’m thrilled to see the latest adjustments and additions to the game. With my years of experience battling monsters and mastering various Descendants, I can truly appreciate the thought and care put into these updates.

In an exciting new update, The First Descendant unveils version 1.0.4. This release brings enhanced rewards at outposts, expanded module storage capacities, and tantalizing hints of major content expansions on the horizon. Boasting over 10 million players in its first week, Nexon’s free-to-play shooter looter remains a captivating sensation among gamers. As players amass resources and loot to boost their power and unlock premier characters, Nexon intends to keep The First Descendant vibrant by consistently introducing new content.

Nexon has been providing fans with regular updates on upcoming plans through a roadmap called “First Descendant.” This roadmap has unveiled new content set to be introduced to the game, both in the near term and throughout future seasons. Season 1, scheduled for release towards the end of August, will introduce a new seasonal episode to advance the storyline, along with new equipment, adversaries, and Descendants to unlock. In addition, Nexon has recently released an update for “The First Descendant,” while also dropping hints about significant content that may be revealed as soon as next week.

Effective July 24, The First Descendant gamers will be able to obtain Update 1.0.4, which incorporates several modifications to the fundamental game. The Module Storage limit has been enhanced from 1,000 to 1,500. In terms of content, the developers have decreased the cooldown for the Vulgus Strategic Outpost mission from 5 minutes to just 1 minute, leading to an increase in monster respawns and adjustments to rewards. Defeating monsters during Special Operations such as Neutralize Void Experiment will now yield Void Fragments, while employing the Mark for Arrest item will grant a substantial amount of gold – 100,000 for regular marks and 1 million for high-value ones. These improvements appear to align with Nexon’s previous statement regarding adjusting Outposts based on the Valby Gold Farm technique uncovered by fans.

Nexon not only released details about update 1.0.4 in their patch notes, but they also previewed what’s upcoming next week. From a content standpoint, this looks significant. The game’s popular character, Valby from The First Descendant, will soon gain an Ultimate version. With this new iteration comes adjustments to the “Sea of Emerald” kit, featuring skills such as Spiral Tidal Wave and Hydro Pressure Bomb.

As an excited fan, I’m thrilled to share that in the upcoming update, I’ll get to experience the addition of two new Ultimate weapons and Modules: Peace Mediator and Arche Concretion respectively. The battlefield will welcome a new Intercept Battle against a formidable void boss named Gluttony. This boss is rumored to allow players to “mine Void Energy,” and with the hint of a cooling process, ice-based Descendants like Viessa could be an effective counter. Lastly, I’m looking forward to meeting the new Descendant, Luna, a “Mad Artist” who can sync her weapon’s fire in rhythm to boost allies and their abilities. Can’t wait for this update!

The FIrst Descendant Update 1.0.4 Patch Notes

Content Improvements

– Module storage limit has been increased from 1000 to 1500.

– Cooldown for ” Vulgus Strategic Outpost” has been reduced from 5 minutes to 1 minute.

At the “Vulgus Strategic Outpost,” the time it takes for monsters to reappear has been lengthened, and the rewards given have been changed.

In Special Operations, Monsters will now yield Void Fragments upon defeat. The highest number of fragments will be obtained from the Specific Operation called “Neutralize Void Experiment.”

Using the “Mark for Arrest” item acquired through Special Operations will yield ten times the standard gold reward. When you utilize this item from the “consumable” tab, it transforms into an equivalent of 100,000 gold coins. Similarly, a “High-Value Mark for Arrest” will be converted into an impressive sum of 1,000,000 gold coins upon usage.

# Director’s Comment With this adjustment, the reward amount at Fortress outpost has been reduced. However, to ensure that “Valby run” remains a popular hunting ground like Ambush Point and Refined Run, we have set the reward efficiency significantly higher than originally intended. We hope to provide numerous farming spots in The First Descendant, each with unique characteristics and usefulness to different Descendants. Instead of reverting Valby run to its original design intent, we have adjusted it to offer similar efficiency to other high-reward hunting grounds. Additionally, we have shortened the cooldowns for all outposts so that players can play them more frequently without deliberately failing and no longer need to search for outposts with shorter cooldowns by moving around the map. We have also added gold rewards to Special Operations and adjusted 4 types of Void Fragments to be randomly dropped, allowing players to choose and utilize various hunting grounds. Through issues like the Fortress Outskirts and Valby run, we are learning what kind of play style our players enjoy. The experience of sweeping through and farming monsters is of significant value in our game. Your feedback and interest are what drive the continuous improvement of The First Descendant. We will always listen to your feedback and improve the game.
■ Week 5 Update Preview

Greetings, this is The First Descendant Director Joo Min-seok.

Based on my experience as a dedicated gamer, I’m thrilled to share that we have more than just patch notes waiting for you next week! In fact, I’ve had the pleasure of sneak peeking into our upcoming update and I can assure you, it’s going to be a game-changer. So, mark your calendars and get ready for an unforgettable experience. Trust me, it will be worth the wait!

Sea of Emerald, “Ultimate Valby”

After much anticipation, the Magisters have finally finished Valby’s most ambitious project: the “Sea of Emerald” technology. This state-of-the-art nanosuit perfectly replicates Valby’s previous body hue and texture. While it only adds a thin layer to her form, wearing it brings back memories of a lost piece of herself for Valby, making her feel whole once more.

Ultimate Valby’s Modification Modules

Instead of the hard-to-target “Bubble Bullet” in the “Spiral Tidal Wave,” there is now a projectile that flies directly towards the target. This new projectile draws in impurities associated with Gluttony, making it an ideal tool for thwarting this particular sin.

When I drop this bad boy, it doesn’t just plop into the water. No way! It surges forward and splashes damage to any foes within its impact zone. The more enemies unfortunate enough to be in that area, the more devastating the explosion. So, instead of submerging myself, I leap gleefully forward and let the Hydro Pressure Bomb do all the heavy lifting as a powerful finisher.

A New Descendant, “Luna”

After traveling extensively for performances, the gifted artist Luna, also known as The Mad One, has made her way back to Albion. Her unique synthesizer gun gains strength when synchronized with rhythmic beats, granting allies additional abilities during the show. As Luna moves to lively tunes, allies’ skill power amplifies, and when she grooves to soothing melodies, their mental fortitude recovers and resource usage lessens. Come join us for Luna’s unforgettable concert! Despite Virgus having to bid farewell to the stage, Luna’s extraordinary performances are only starting!

Luna’s Modification Modules

Enhances Luna’s mobility and amplifies the range of her performance’s effect, enabling more efficient ally assistance”:

With Noise Surge activated, Luna switches from being supportive to dealing combat damage. She charges towards adversaries in rhythmic beats, inflicting harm on surrounding enemies. Once her inspiration meter is filled, she creates a stage that restores her mental fortitude and grants protective shields. Prepare your enemies for a dreadful musical performance as Luna unleashes the power of Noise Surge!

Gluttony

A larger-than-life Devourer-Gluttony, with a mutation, craves Void Energy insatiably. Equipped with mining tools and a cooling system to manage the heat produced, it is essential to find ways to resist its chilling abilities and capitalize on its voracious tendencies when confronting it. Gain new ultimate weapons and attachments as rewards for successfully challenging this formidable foe.

New Ultimate Weapon “Peace Mediator”

For bringing tranquility to Ingris when needed, the Peace Mediator – the latest and greatest hand cannon – is an ideal choice. Capable of providing soothing relief even with individual shots, it also offers a barrage of bullets for enhanced firepower in suitable situations.

New Ultimate Module “Arche Concretion”

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I’ve come to appreciate the value of strategic choices when it comes to building and customizing my characters. One particular modification that has caught my eye is the Arche Concretion effect.

Balance Adjustments

In our weekly progress report for the fifth week, we’ve chosen to fine-tune the balancing of certain Descendants and Ultimate weapons.

We plan to enhance Valby, Blair, and Freyna, who primarily rely on Area of Effect (AOE) abilities. Their role on the battlefield will become more impactful as they generate expansive AOE areas and comfortably take out enemies from a distance. Anticipate an upgrade in efficiency for these Descendants specializing in broad-spectrum combat.

As a seasoned gamer with hundreds of hours spent in various first-person shooter games, I can confidently say that the upcoming improvements to Ultimate weapons are something to get excited about. Having played through countless missions and battles, I’ve grown fond of certain weapons like the Enduring Legacy, Secret Garden, and Nazeistra’s Devotion.

In addition, we’ll enhance Greg’s Reversed Fate rifle (tactical weapon) to trigger its exclusive feature more frequently. Furthermore, we’re upgrading the functionality of individual bullets weapons, granting players the option between shooting one bullet at a time or in rapid succession. Keep an eye out for this upcoming improvement.

Lastly,

In the upcoming Week 5 update, you can anticipate further enhancements for your convenience. Additionally, long-awaited new cosmetics will be released, so hang in there for only a little longer!
