In the intriguing world of “Once Human,” one of the more unusual creatures you’ll come across is the Electric Eel, a deviant with an appealing appearance and the ability to power up your base’s generator. At first glance, catching an Electric Eel might seem challenging, but with the right strategies and preparation, it will prove to be an enjoyable experience. This article aims to guide you through the process of capturing this Deviant and maximizing its abilities for your benefit.

How to Get the Electric Eel Deviant

An Electric Eel, a unique species, contributes significantly to enhancing the performance of your power plants. This elusive inhabitant prefers surroundings bathed in blue light, resonating with mechanical noises, and warmed temperatures. It exhibits aversion towards soothing music. To harness its potential, you need to properly nurture it upon bringing it to your settlement. To capture an Electric Eel, start by crafting a Fishing Rod and Baits at a Workbench before setting off on your quest.

To make a fishing rod, you’ll require some logs and copper ingots. Obtaining logs and copper ingots is quite straightforward. However, bait can be prepared using corn or purchased from non-player characters (NPCs).

Finding & Catching the Electric Eel

Head to the South Deadsville waterfront, specifically the Mayor’s Market Docks, for a chance to hook an Electric Eel. This area is renowned for its significant Electric Eel population.

As a fishing enthusiast, I prepare my fishing rod by hitting the hotkey, often labeled as number 9. Next, to make my bait ready, I press the R key on my keyboard. The choice of bait is crucial; I’ve had great success with the Dough Fish Bait made from corn.

When fishing for Deviants, you’ll need to lower your gaze and move the mouse around until a green target appears. Once it does, click to cast your line. Be prepared for some determination as catching these elusive creatures may require several attempts.

During Party and Surge of Fish events, your odds will be boosted. You can identify these events on the map, which each duration of thirty minutes.

When the Electric Eel attacks, a reel symbol will appear, signaling the start of a timer. Click the left mouse button to reel in the eel while keeping an eye on the Escape and Durability gauges. Your objective is to fill up the Escape gauge without depleting the Durability gauge during your escape.

Observe the eel’s actions as you film it. This will assist you in determining the optimal moment for tension and assessing whether it’s risky enough to attempt breaking the line. With experience, this skill will prove invaluable.

Using the Electric Eel Deviant

Catch an Electric Eel and transfer it to a safe enclosure at your campsite, either a specialized Independent Secure Unit or a large fish tank. The electric eel is capable of moving around freely in the fish tank, enhancing the capacity of its power-generating abilities. To optimize the eel’s performance, the containment area should be equipped with blue lighting, mechanical noises, and warm temperatures.

If you carefully carry out the instructions, an Electric Eel will become a valuable addition to your base, enhancing its productivity.
