If you’re aiming for the platinum trophy in Ghost of Yotei, you’ll encounter a combat achievement called ‘You Dropped This.’ To get it, you need to disarm an enemy and then defeat them using their own weapon. You won’t be able to do this right away, but this guide will walk you through the necessary steps to successfully complete this challenge and earn the Ghost of Yotei ‘You Dropped This’ trophy.
How to Disarm and Kill an Enemy with Their Weapon in Ghost of Yotei
First, you’ll need to unlock either the ‘Disarm Counter‘ or ‘Onryo Strike‘ skill. You can do this by praying at Altars of Reflection, which become available after completing certain side quests. Alternatively, you can buy ‘Overlook Altar‘ maps from the Cartographer for 50 Coins. Without one of these skills, you won’t be able to disarm an enemy without defeating them.
If you decide to learn the ‘Disarm Counter’ skill, you’ll need to wait for an enemy to perform an attack with a yellow glow during battle. A quick flash right before the attack happens shows they are powering it up. While they are charging this yellow attack, press and hold the Triangle button to disarm them.

To disarm an opponent using Onryo Strike, hold down L1 and R1 when you have three Spirit Orbs – you can see these in the bottom left corner of the screen. This will immediately disarm the enemy, though there’s also a chance it could kill them.
Based on my experience with Onryo Strike, it often defeats enemies while disarming them. Because of this, I suggest using the Disarm Counter skill to earn this trophy. However, if you encounter a stronger enemy that performs a yellow glint attack, you can use Onryo Strike to disarm them instead.
With their weapon now on the ground, you can grab it using R2 and throw it back at them by pressing Square. Keep in mind that you need to defeat them with this thrown weapon to earn the ‘You Dropped This’ trophy. To ensure it’s a killing blow, weaken them with a few attacks first to reduce their health.
I suggest getting this unlocked fairly soon when you start playing. That way, you’ll have lots of chances to use it while you progress through the story.
