All Wolf Dens in Ghost of Yotei

In 10 Wolf Dens in Ghost of Yotei, Atsu teams up with a Wolf companion to defeat Saiko’s Outlaws. Lord Saiko has sent these outlaws to eliminate the wolves of Ezo. Atsu can find her Wolf partner at these dens located throughout Ezo, and together they seek revenge for their home. Completing each Wolf Den strengthens the bond between Atsu and her Wolf, and rewards players with a skill point to improve the Wolf’s combat abilities. Below are the locations of each Ghost of Yotei Wolf Den, helping Atsu and her Wolf become as formidable a duo as Atsu and her sword.

All Yotei Grasslands Wolf Dens in Ghost of Yotei

There are 2 Wolf Dens that players can find in Yotei Grasslands, the starting area of Ezo:

1 – Green Hill Wolf Den

You can find the Wolf Den by heading south of Lake Shikotsu, a little beyond Atsu’s Home. It’s located on a small rocky outcrop with a tree growing on top. To start a scene with the Wolf, just walk up to the bodies and look at them using the R2 button. This will begin a chase sequence where you’ll need to follow the Wolf on horseback to an enemy camp and defeat everyone there.

2 – Great Mountain Wolf Den

Head northwest of the Nupur River, traveling upstream from Atsu’s Home. To the left of the Crow’s Nest Watchtower, you’ll find another Wolf Den, located under a tree with a large rock on top of the den. Examine the body you find here, and a growling Wolf will appear. Follow this Wolf to the Outlaw Camp and eliminate the outlaws as punishment for their actions against the other wolves.

All Ishikari Plain Wolf Dens in Ghost of Yotei

The Ishikari Plain features 2 Wolf Dens, and players can explore this western region while searching for The Oni.

3 – Dying Fire Wolf Den

To find the Nakagoya Spring, travel along the northeast river past the Horokanai Bluffs. The next Wolf Den is located right above the letters “Y” and “A” in “Nakogoya”. As with other Wolf Dens, you’ll need to investigate the bodies outside to start a cutscene featuring the Wolf. Then, follow her to a new location where you must defeat more enemies.

4 – Old Wound Wolf Den

Players can travel north from the Ishikari Plain, beyond the Stone Jaw Coast, and follow the Rumoi River. To the west of the river, you’ll discover another Wolf Den near a dead tree, but this one is under attack by Oni Raiders. The Raiders are using fire bombs against the Wolf Den, so it’s important to eliminate them to allow the Wolf to emerge. Once you do, Atsu will chase after the Wolf on horseback, initiating a new assault on the trappers. Be careful, as the Raiders can be dangerous. This Wolf Den is different from the others.

All Tokachi Range Wolf Dens in Ghost of Yotei

Tokachi Range has 2 Wolf Dens, and this location is a short journey north of the Yotei Grasslands:

5 – Hunter’s Watch Wolf Den

Travel north to the Ohara Plains. Look for a rock with a tree growing on top – it’s located between the letters “A” and “P” in “Ohara Plains”. Be careful, as this area is full of enemies! Defeat them to make the Wolf emerge from its den.

6 – Howling Fields Wolf Den

Head north along the Niikappu River until you arrive at the Saru Plains, and then continue northward to locate the Boar’s Eye Cave. On the map, right before the letters “E” and “C” in “Boar’s Eye Cave”, you’ll see a distinctive rock formation that hides another Wolf Den. Inside, players need to investigate the bodies to awaken the Wolf, and then follow it to where the trappers are located to eliminate them. This Wolf Den is a bit different: you have to open the cages yourself to release the wolves, which will then trigger a larger battle against the trappers with the entire wolf pack.

All Nayoro Wilds Wolf Dens in Ghost of Yotei

There’s just 1 Wolf Den in the Nayoro Wilds, and it’s on the continued path north of Tokachi Range:

7 – White Scars Wolf Den

Head north along the river, going past Nayoro Falls and into Kankan Creek. Look for a rock formation just above the first “N” in “Kankan” – that’s where you’ll find another Wolf Den. It looks just like the previous one; simply walk up to the entrance to summon an ally and start fighting, but this time you’ll have a bear fighting alongside you!

All Teshio Ridge Wolf Dens in Ghost of Yotei

Teshio Ridge features 2 Wolf Dens and is the northernmost part of Ezo. Players can reach this area by boat as they search for The Kitsune.

8 – Cold Lake Wolf Den

Once you reach the snowy region of Ezo, specifically Teshio Ridge, take the northwest path across the tundra to Sarobetsu Lake. You’ll find a cozy Inn located on the beautiful, frozen lake. From the Inn, travel east through the mountains to locate the Wolf Den, which is situated near a cliff. Get ready to battle the Wolf again! This Wolf Den demands quick reflexes, as you’ll be fighting in a blizzard that slowly damages your health. Be sure to stay close to the campfire to minimize the damage.

9 – Biting Wind Wolf Den

As you head further north along the Teshio Ridge, be sure to go beyond the Sentinel Forest. Between this forest and the Hakodake Mountains, you’ll find a Wolf Den located near the ridge. If you’re having trouble locating it, use the location shown in the image above. Just wait for a golden bird to lead you, then prepare to assist the Wolf in rescuing more of its family. Be warned, there’s an ambush set up at the wolf’s cage.

All Oshima Coast Wolf Dens in Ghost of Yotei

The Oshima Coast features only 1 Wolf Den, and you can reach this location only after finishing your earlier hunts for The Oni and The Kitsune. It continues the story after completing The Dragon & The Spider.

10 – Waterfall Wolf Den

To reach this Wolf Den, head to the eastern part of Oshima Coast. Go past Atago Rice Fields and Castle Matsumae, and continue even further beyond the Saito Artillery Outpost. You’ll eventually come across a waterfall you can climb. At the top, you’ll find another Wolf Den containing the bodies of Saito Outlaws, and it represents the final challenge to prove the bond between Atsu and the Wolf.

Okay, so I finally finished all 10 Wolf Dens, and it feels *so* good! I just unlocked the Wolves of Ezo, which is a Bronze Trophy – awesome addition to my collection! Plus, I got The Wolf Pack Mask. Definitely worth the effort!
