Dungeonborne: How to Change Controls & Keybinds

Dungeonborne: How to Change Controls & Keybinds

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I can’t stress enough how important it is to have controls that feel natural and intuitive when playing a new game. And for me, that’s exactly what Dungeonborne delivers – a richly immersive dungeon crawler experience with a wide array of weapons, attacks, and skills that demand quick reflexes and precise key presses. But when the default control settings didn’t quite fit my playstyle, I knew I had to take matters into my own hands.

In the game “Dungeonborne,” you’ll face off against formidable foes, obstacles, and even other players to secure valuable loot from treacherous dungeons. Featuring diverse weapons, moves, and abilities across various classes, mastering the art of executing effective combos is crucial for survival. Yet, optimally performing these combos relies heavily on your familiarity with the control setup. If you find the default keyboard configurations less than ideal, follow these steps to customize your control scheme in “Dungeonborne.”

In the game “Dungeonborne,” there’s an optional training ground for new players, where you can tackle a tiny dungeon to grasp the fundamental mechanics. This is a great starting point to learn how to assault, defend with a shield, unleash unique abilities, and crucially, use healing items to enhance your resilience. However, it’s quite perplexing that you cannot modify control settings during this tutorial in “Dungeonborne“. You have to finish or abandon the tutorial before adjusting controls from the campsite instead.

The tutorial gives you the flexibility to adjust your graphics settings for Dungeonborne. If your computer doesn’t meet the game’s suggested requirements, feel free to try out different settings in the tutorial through the main menu.

At the campsite, you’ll find an on-screen menu. To access it, press the Escape key or click the icon resembling a compass in the upper-left corner. Once inside, navigate to the Settings section. Here, look for and click on the Mouse and Keyboard tab. This will open various adjustment options for your sensitivity, custom key bindings, and control remapping within Dungeonborne.

As a gamer, I’d say: “In my Dungeonborne adventure, I have the power to customize my gaming experience with ease. All my preferred settings are saved in one place – the config file. You can find it tucked away in C:\Users\Your-User-Name\AppData\Local\Dungeonborne\Saved\Config\Windows.”

An important point to add, particularly for Nvidia users, is that within “Dungeonborne,” the F1 key cannot be reassigned at present. When pressed, it displays your character roster. However, this same key is used by default in the Nvidia GeForce Experience software to capture screenshots. It’s likely an oversight that will hopefully be addressed in upcoming updates. Until then, users can either change their screenshot shortcut or take a screenshot whenever they need to switch characters.

In simple terms, using a controller with Dungeonborne isn’t officially endorsed. Although you can assign keyboard keys to a controller via Steam, the personalized settings usually don’t function during gameplay in Dungeonborne.
