As a dedicated fan who has eagerly anticipated the release of Marvel Rivals, I was thrilled when I received a beta invitation and jumped right into the game. I spent countless hours playing as my favorite heroes, completing challenges, and unlocking new skins for them. I was especially excited to see that my progress in the beta would carry over to the full launch of the game.
During the Marvel Rivals Closed Beta, fans can test drive top characters before the official release, and they can even advance in levels and collect cosmetic prizes. However, is the development made during this beta saved for the game’s final version?
In simple terms, here’s what you can expect regarding beta access and character appearances in the upcoming game’s final version.
Do beta rewards carry over in Marvel Rivals?
In the transition from Marvel Rivals beta to the complete version of the game, rewards do not continue. Only the Cyan Clash Venom skin obtained upon reaching level 30 remains. Regrettably, all other skins, sprays, nameplates, and more will be forfeited.
In simpler terms, the developers answered this question in their beta FAQs, but their response left fans puzzled. They were instructed to complete all testing tasks to earn special rewards, which could be utilized once the game is officially launched.
When I dive into the game, I’m excited to see the Venom outfit labeled as everlasting. But, there’s a catch: the other unlocks don’t carry the same permanence. It seems they might get erased at some point.
I’ve been there before, feeling the excitement and anticipation of a new game or app launch. But then came the disappointment when I realized that all the progress I had made, including any currency earned by completing challenges, would be reset on day one. It’s frustrating to start over from scratch, especially when you have limited time to devote to the game. However, I understand that this is a common practice in the gaming industry to level the playing field for new players and ensure fairness. Still, it’s a small inconvenience I’m willing to endure for the joy of experiencing the latest and greatest in gaming technology.
Will my level carry forward to the full game?
When the beta phase concludes on August 4, I’m sorry to say that my progress won’t carry over. The full game launch means starting anew from scratch. Once the servers get powered down for maintenance, every account, including mine, will be wiped clean – levels and stats included.
At the game’s release, it’s expected that new events or battle passes will be available. The developers aim for a fair start for all players by ensuring everyone begins with a clean slate.
To access Competitive Mode, you’ll need to put in some effort and progress through the initial stages first.
If you haven’t obtained a beta access code but are eager to explore the various heroes and villains, you can try earning one as a Twitch Drops reward instead.
