As a long-time fan of the STALKER series, I can’t help but feel a mix of frustration and anticipation as I hear about yet another delay for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl. I’ve been following this game since its initial announcement in 2018, and it feels like we’ve been on this rollercoaster ride for ages. I was initially excited when the game was supposed to release back in April 2022, but then came the first delay due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent relocation of the developer.

The upcoming exclusive game for Xbox Series X/S, “STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl,” has experienced another postponement and is now scheduled to release on November 20, 2024. This sets the total number of delays for this title, which was initially planned since 2022, at four.

The eagerly awaited fourth installment in the FPS-RPG series was initially planned for release in April 2022. However, this schedule was disrupted by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, causing developer GSC Game World to move to Prague, Czech Republic. In August 2023, the studio postponed STALKER 2 from Q1 2024 to an unspecified later date. Five months after that announcement, GSC revealed a third delay for the project but set a definitive release date: September 5, 2024.

STALKER 2 Announces 4th Delay With Self-Aware Video

GSC has made another adjustment to the release schedule for “STALKER 2.” Instead of coming out on September 5 as previously planned, the game is now projected to be available starting November 20. This was revealed in a humorous video titled “Really, Again?” where one of the characters informs the main character, who is visibly frustrated, about this latest delay through a radio message.

GSC Promises Fans STALKER 2 Wait Will Be Worth It

As a gamer, I understand that GSC has announced another delay for STALKER 2. I know this news might be disappointing, and trust me, we share your frustration. However, the team at GSC emphasized the importance of continuing to refine the game in order to provide you with an even better experience. They mentioned that these extra two months will offer them a valuable opportunity to squash additional bugs and ensure a more polished final product. Rest assured, gamers, the wait will be worth it as STALKER 2 is currently shaping up to surpass our initial expectations.

We know you might be tired of waiting, and we truly appreciate your patience.

STALKER 2’s Delay Weakens Xbox Game Pass September 2024 Lineup

The game’s delay serves as a major hit to the Xbox Game Pass September 2024 lineup. With STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl now being pushed back to fall, Microsoft’s subscription service has dropped to five confirmed day-one releases for September. The first of those will arrive in the form of Monster and Monster’s transportation sim Star Trucker, which is scheduled to debut on September 3. Age of Mythology: Retold is planned to arrive a day later, followed by post-apocalyptic city builder Frostpunk 2 on September 20. Civilization rival Ara: History Untold will then reach Microsoft’s subscription catalog on September 24.

STALKER 2 Preview Coming In August 2024

As a long-time fan of the Stalker series, I couldn’t be more excited for the upcoming release of GSC’s new title, STALKER 2. Over the years, I’ve spent countless hours exploring the radioactive wastes of the original games, and the thought of delving back into this hauntingly beautiful world is truly thrilling.
