Honestly, when Embark announced ARC Raiders was coming out so close to Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, everyone thought it was going to flop. Those are huge games with massive followings! But wow, were we all wrong. ARC Raiders has absolutely blown up! It’s sold over 12 million copies, won Best Multiplayer Game at the 2025 Game Awards, and the servers are still packed on both consoles and PC. A big part of that success is definitely thanks to all the streamers and YouTubers who started playing it before launch – they really helped get the word out!

Players received Ardelia shortly after the release of Arknights: Endfield, along with her unique weapon, making her a strong support character. While she’s excellent, she doesn’t quite reach the top tier. Increasing her Potential once boosts her Physical and Arts Vulnerability by 8%, which is beneficial, but not enough to make her a better pick than a fully upgraded 6-star character in Arknights: Endfield.

Though it came out in 2023, this game was a bit lost in the excitement surrounding Alan Wake 2 (which is understandable, as that game is fantastic). Still, it stood out to me as the best horror game of the year because of its expertly crafted story, unexpected plot twists, and unique gameplay that playfully interacts with the player.

Orbitals is being created by Shapefarm, a studio based in Tokyo, and will be published by Kepler Interactive. Although Shapefarm is a new studio, Kepler Interactive has a proven track record with successful games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. It’s yet to be seen if this combination of fresh development and experienced publishing will result in a great game, but early reactions show players are already excited about Orbitals’ graphics and the first look at gameplay.

Looking ahead to 2026, there are some really promising sandbox games on the horizon. We’ll be highlighting a diverse range of titles, including open-world survival games, life simulation games, and more. While this isn’t a complete list of everything coming out, these are definitely the most anticipated releases. Exact release dates aren’t available for all of them yet, but they’re currently expected to launch sometime in 2026.

Starting in late 2025, the cost of memory (RAM) started to increase sharply because manufacturers were prioritizing production for AI data centers over other areas, creating a limited supply. Originally known as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds when it launched in 2017, PUBG helped popularize the battle royale style of game. It became free-to-play in January 2022 and has sold over 75 million copies on various platforms. Even with more competitors emerging, PUBG continues to be popular with a loyal fanbase. While support for older consoles has ended, the game remains a success and is frequently among the most-played titles on Steam.

After a long wait, the game Pragmata is finally nearing release. First revealed during Sony’s PlayStation 5 presentation in June 2020, it’s now scheduled to launch six years later in April 2026. Originally intended for a 2022 release, the game faced several delays due to challenges in balancing its unique combat system, as explained by director Cho Yonghee, who noted a lot of experimentation was needed. It wasn’t until The Game Awards 2025 that a version for the Nintendo Switch 2 was confirmed, having initially been announced only for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
