As a huge fan of “House of the Dragon,” I’ve been utterly captivated by the complex and intriguing characters that have graced our screens. With each new episode, my admiration for these individuals grows stronger, and today, I’d like to share my thoughts on three particularly endearing characters: King Aegon II Targaryen, Ser Simon Strong, and the Ratcatcher’s Dog.

Caught up in circumstances beyond her control, she was forced to make an impossible decision that brought great loss. It’s effortless for me to empathize with her, understanding the depth of her pain and the complexities of her situation.

As a dedicated fan of “House of the Dragon,” I can’t help but feel disappointed that Rhaenys Targaryen, played by Milly Alcock, has not received enough attention since the heart-wrenching loss of her son. It’s disheartening to see no other character take the time to console her in her grief. Yet, I must admit, every scene she graces with her presence is nothing short of phenomenal. The enigma surrounding her character is a captivating mystery that leaves us yearning for more. Here’s hoping the writers recognize her potential and give Rhaenys the screen time she deserves to share her grief and unravel her secrets.

4 Prince Jacaerys Velaryon

Harry Collett’s performance as Prince Jacaerys Velaryon left a strong impression on viewers towards the end of Season 1. However, his expanded role in Season 2 has solidified him as a beloved character among fans. Sharing screen time with the popular Cregan Stark, Jace then moved to comfort his grieving mother in one of the most moving scenes in the series.

During the ongoing conflict, Jace has stood out as the most practical and effective member among the Blacks. He possesses the qualities that would make an excellent ruler. Moreover, this latest season left fans in awe of his new approach, and his intense gaze became a popular topic for numerous memes.

3 King Aegon II Targaryen

Particularly poignant were the moments showcasing his bond with his son. These interactions initially swayed fans towards him.

As a gamer, I can say that Aegon may have an imperfect past filled with questionable actions, yet he doesn’t embody the wickedness of characters like Joffrey or Ramsey from Game of Thrones. Although love has been scarce in his life, it’s clear that deep down, he yearns to rule justly. For some fans, the most heartwarming scene was when Aegon connected with his dragon Sunfyre – a fleeting yet significant moment that showcased a different side of this complex character.

2 Ser Simon Strong

A Genuinely Kind Man Who Contrasts Hilariously With Daemon Targaryen

Although House Strong may not boast the largest numbers or greatest power among the families in “House of the Dragon,” each Strong character has impressively held their own. Unexpectedly, an elderly great-uncle of the valiant Harwin Strong has emerged as a fan favorite within this esteemed lineage.

Despite this fact, Ser Simon Strong endears himself to audiences with his humanizing qualities. This kind-hearted nobleman, who playfully disputes titles with Daemon and apologizes for forgetting redcurrants, seems an anomaly amidst the chaos of Westeros. Viewers cannot help but hope that he remains unscathed in this brutal world. Ser Simon’s disposition is free from malice, and all he desires is to offer assistance and enjoy a tranquil existence. His mannerisms echo those of a cherished character from the initial series – Samwell Tarly.
