I, a humble Assassin hailing from the enchanting city of Florence during the tumultuous times of the Renaissance, have lived through trials and tribulations that would leave most quaking in their boots. My life has been a rollercoaster ride filled with vengeance, love, betrayal, and redemption.

I was just a regular gamer, living my life, when I first heard the story of Ezio Auditore. Different from the protagonist Altair in the previous game, Ezio didn’t start out as an Assassin. Instead, his life took a tragic turn, with the brutal deaths of his father and brothers right before his eyes, leaving him no choice but to join the order as he sought revenge and justice. What followed was an incredible journey of transformation for this young man.

During this adventure, he encounters a remarkable woman named Caterina Sforza in the city of Forli. Their initial encounter involves his brave rescue of her. Subsequently, he forms a strong bond with the Assassins by becoming their devoted ally. The experience is filled with captivating gameplay sections, although it is relatively brief in length.

The Battle Of Forli

In the final stages of the game, an incident unfolds in Forli. Here, Caterina is under siege by the troops of the Orsi brothers, who aim to seize the Apple of Eden for the Templars. Consequently, Ezio engages in a battle to protect the city and confronts both brothers.

In this storyline, Forli plays a significant role in a new plot line not explored before, adding distinctiveness and intrigue. It also deepens Katerina’s character development and ends unexpectedly as the Apple of Eden is obtained by an outsider, untangled in the Assassin-Templar feud.

In the fifth stage of this game, the focus shifts to a relentless pursuit. Following Francesco Pazzi’s demise, his accomplices flee to Tuscany, leaving it up to Ezio to track them down and neutralize each one. What makes this sequence distinctive is that nearly every memory features a target for the player to eliminate.

These events result in captivating scenes, such as scaling one of the town’s tallest towers to eliminate a Templar preacher or blending into the crowd to track down your enemy. The narrative reaches its climax with Ezio encountering Rodrigo Borgia once more, the individual behind the destruction of his family.

Loose Ends

In this segment, the storyline centers around Ezio confronting Silvio, the last significant Barbarigo family member aligned with the Templars and acting as Dante Moro’s bodyguard. The sequence is filled with numerous combat encounters and concludes with an exhilarating chase scene. During this pursuit, Ezio must efficiently eliminate the targets before they manage to escape Venice.

In Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, I was thrilled when Bartolomeo d’Alviano made an appearance. He’s a brave and unyielding warrior who joins forces with Ezio. The two of us team up to pursue Silvio and free Venice from the oppressive grip of the Templars. It’s an exhilarating experience working alongside Bartolomeo, adding depth to the narrative and making our joint mission all the more memorable.

The Thieves of Venice

In Venice, which is among the most stunning destinations in the game and lies on the water, Ezio begins his initial adventure. This city is teeming with gondoliers and their boats, and unlike Florence, Venice is a new and unexplored territory for Ezio, as he has not previously visited.

Ezio meets the Barbarigo family, who represent the Templars in Venice and are now his new objectives. Wealthy merchant Emilio Barbarigo is specifically identified as Ezio’s primary focus. Ezio forms an alliance with notoriously cunning Venetian thieves, unbeknownst to him they are actually Assassins hiding in plain sight.

The Golden Days

In the beginning of the game, we see how Ezio’s life unfolded before discovering the Assassins: filled with festivities, brawls on the streets, and romantic moments with his love interest – a blissful existence for a young man during the Renaissance period. These recollections depict Ezio’s heedless lifestyle as he roamed Florence, supported his family, and remained oblivious to the future.

As I watched the events unfold in the sequence, the mood shifted dramatically. The guards suddenly appeared around the city, and my heart sank as I learned that my father and brother had been imprisoned. Desperate to save them, I threw myself into a desperate mission. I came close to achieving my goal, but just as hope began to dawn, I was cruelly betrayed by a trusted friend. The shock of this betrayal left me reeling, and set me on a new path – one of vengeance.

Return To Florence

After the passing of Ezio’s loved ones, he avoids Florence for a while. In the fourth installment of the story, however, he goes back to the city. The Pazzi family, with ties to the Templars, emerges as Ezio’s primary enemy. Among them, Francesco becomes a significant focus. Eventually, Francesco meets his end at the hands of the Assassins, allowing them to regain control over Florence.

In the narrative, Ezio enters one of the Assassin tombs presented in the series, serving as an introduction to this hidden Templar network. Through this raid, he uncovers the identities and visages of several key conspirators against the Assassins. These individuals subsequently become Ezio’s primary objectives in the subsequent sequences.

A Family Reunion

In sequence three, the intensity of the previous storyline takes a pause. Ezio reaches his uncle’s villa and is greeted once again by Mario Auditore. During their reunion, Mario shares valuable information regarding the Assassins and their ongoing battle against the Templars. Initially, this knowledge doesn’t sit well with Ezio.

The climax of the series finds Ezio in Tuscany, where he carries out an Assassin’s mission to eliminate Vieri Pazzi. After successfully completing the task, Ezio is overcome by his anger and thirst for vengeance. It is then that Mario imparts a valuable lesson to him, urging him not to be consumed by his rage and hatred.

Saving The Doge

Sequence 8 stands out as a debated one due to its distinct gameplay characteristics. In this part, Ezio is given the mission to shield the Doge from Templar assassination attempts. He turns to Leonardo da Vinci for assistance, who has been a faithful companion throughout the game. This segment serves as an ending point to their friendship and collaboration.

In the game’s concluding mission, Ezio employs Leonardo’s flying contraption for a direct journey to the Doge’s palace, utilizing the city’s flaming barricades as fuel. Regrettably, he fails to prevent the assassination, resulting in a Templar assuming the role of Doge.

Face To Face

In the final stretch of the Venice tale, Ezio pursues the elusive Spaniard. Having dealt with the Barbarigos, his next target is Rodrigo Borgia. A chance encounter leads Ezio to Borgia, and they engage in dialogue. However, their conversation soon deteriorates into a merciless fight.

As I played the game, I was constantly rescued by a multitude of allies I encountered along the way. Unbeknownst to me at the time, these individuals were all part of the Assassin Order, subtly guiding and supporting my journey against Rodrigo. Although they couldn’t defeat him on their own, they fortified our connection and prepared the foundation for our upcoming missions together.

The Raging Pyres

In this part of the story, Ezio returns to Florence for a refreshing change of scenery. Contrary to his usual adversaries, the enemy here is not linked to the Templars. Instead, it’s a zealous man named Savonarola who has misused the Apple of Eden to control the citizens of Florence. As Ezio, you will be tasked with taking out Savonarola’s devoted followers one by one.

In this part of the game, Ezio encounters various followers of Savonarola, each requiring distinct methods for their elimination. This results in numerous memorable experiences as you navigate through the process. The story reaches its climax with Ezio showing mercy and putting an end to Savonarola’s life on the very same square where his family was tragically hanged before.

3 Sequence 2

Betrayal

After the tragic death of Ezio’s father and brothers, an uninterrupted series of events unfolds. Initially a fugitive wanted in the city with no place to call home, Ezio’s luck takes a turn when he encounters unlikely companions who not only aid his survival but also instruct him on key game mechanics, primarily those pertaining to stealth.

In due time, Ezio will have his vengeance and end the life of the traitor who hurt his family. This leads to a fiery proclamation from Ezio as he mercilessly takes down the betrayer. The concluding missions see Ezio reducing his infamy and making a hasty exit with his mother and sister.

2 Sequence 14

The Final Showdown

In the concluding stage of the game, Ezio and his fellow Assassins plan to uncover the hidden mysteries beneath the Vatican and put an end to Rodrigo Borgia’s machinations. They devise a strategy and execute it with an extraordinary infiltration into the depths of the Vatican’s chapels.

As a gamer playing as Ezio, I eventually came face-to-face with Rodrigo, who had risen to become the Pope of Rome. Initially, I attempted to eliminate him as an Assassin, but his powerful staff and deceitful illusions shielded him. Consequently, we engaged in a full-blown confrontation. However, despite his formidable defenses, Rodrigo was eventually defeated, revealing the long-hidden secrets of the Vatican.

1 Sequence 9

The Carnival

Following Doge’s demise, Marco Barbarigo, a Knight Templar, assumes the role, making him Ezio’s new main objective. Yet, eliminating the Doge proves challenging due to his residence in the palace. To create an opening for an assault, Ezio must participate in the carnival. By winning this event, he will be granted access to a celebration where the Doge is in attendance.

In this sequence, the player engages in various contests to obtain the coveted golden mask, a refreshing departure from the usual assassination missions in the game. Ultimately, Ezio eliminates Marco and liberates Venice from Barbarigo’s tyranny.
