The Black Night Kubo is a challenging bounty, and he won’t appear for every player. Once you accept his bounty from the board at the Red Crane Inn in Teshio Ridge, finding him is only the first step. Why Isn’t Black Night Kubo Spawning?

Okay, so if you’re looking for Black Night Kubo, you’ll find him at the Black Night Duel Ring in the Sentinel Forest. It’s a little tricky to find! Zoom in on your map and look for a circular area surrounded by bamboo walls. To get there, head south, right between where it says ‘Sentinel’ and ‘Forest’ on the map. That should take you right to it!

When you reach the Black Night Duel Ring, look for a corpse with a pair of wooden blocks. Clapping these blocks won’t do anything on its own. To summon Black Night Kubo, you need to be wearing black-dyed armor and *then* clap the blocks. The easiest way to get black armor is the Nine Tail Armor, which already comes with a black dye called Eyes in Smoke. You can earn the Nine Tail Armor by playing through “The Kitsune” quest in Teshio Ridge. If you prefer, you can find a Black Dye Merchant west of the Teshio River to dye your existing armor. Once you’re wearing black armor, clap the wooden blocks to trigger a cutscene where Black Night Kubo appears and the duel begins. If Atsu wins, you’ll receive Black Night Kubo’s Mask as a reward.
