This article contains spoilers from Jujutsu Kaisen manga.
The new arc of *Jujutsu Kaisen*, called Modulo, is off to a fantastic start, with a compelling story that’s drawing connections to earlier parts of the series. Even though Gege Akutami isn’t currently illustrating the manga, Modulo has been incredibly engaging, and it promises to get even better. A major theme emerging is the presence of aliens, who appear to be a significant threat. While cursed spirits and curse users still exist in the *Jujutsu Kaisen* world, the aliens seem even more dangerous. The story has established that they possess immense power, potentially on par with Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses.
I’ve been following the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo story, and it’s really interesting how much focus there still is on Sukuna. It looks like Gege Akutami may have dropped a huge hint about his origins. We’ve always known Sukuna as a human, but Modulo officially introduced the idea of aliens into the story. Considering some clues Akutami gave us earlier in the series, it now seems possible – and honestly, it makes a lot of sense – that Sukuna might actually be descended from aliens.

Sukuna Could Have Alien Blood

- Sukuna is the strongest sorcerer along with Gojo
- Sukuna’s powers could’ve come from aliens
Ryomen Sukuna, a tremendously powerful cursed spirit often called the King of Curses, was generally believed to have originally been human. The story reveals he consumed his twin brother and was born to a mother who was likely human, suggesting he has human ancestry. However, this doesn’t rule out the possibility that Sukuna could also be an extraterrestrial being.
You look like a lost alien. — Gojo Satoru to Ryomen Sukuna
During the intense battle between Sukuna and Gojo in Shinjuku, Gojo remarked that Sukuna resembled a lost alien. Interestingly, the author later introduced a storyline featuring aliens capable of using cursed energy, and who are even more powerful than sorcerers. Considering Sukuna’s unique physiology – his body clearly doesn’t conform to human anatomy – it’s possible he has alien origins, perhaps inherited from his father or other ancestors.

Sukuna’s Body Might Be Partially Alien
Sukuna’s True Lineage Is Unknown

While Ryomen Sukuna’s mother was likely human, his father might have been an extraterrestrial being. This could account for his incredible strength from birth and why he’s still considered the most powerful being. It might also explain his unusual appearance, although the theory that he absorbed his twin is another possibility.
Extraterrestrials exist, and we’re on our own now – it’s up to us to handle things. – Yuka and Tsurugi
While it’s not confirmed yet, fans are starting to believe Sukuna might actually be an alien. If true, this would add a fascinating new layer to the story of the Simurians.

Jujutsu Kaisen is a hugely popular action series. While the original manga finished in late 2024, you can still read it online for free on Manga Plus, where new chapters used to appear every week.
