College Football 25: Red & Green Diamonds In Dynasty Mode, Explained

As a dedicated fan of College Football and someone who has spent countless hours playing Dynasty Mode in previous football video games, I am beyond excited for the new and improved version in College Football 25. The intricacy and depth of the recruiting process have always been a highlight for me, and this year’s game seems to have upped the ante with the inclusion of Red and Green Diamonds.

As a die-hard fan of College Football 25, I’m thrilled about the upcoming Dynasty Mode. In this immersive experience, I get to assume the role of a coach, making strategic decisions both during games and off the field. One of my primary responsibilities is managing my team’s roster construction, which entails recruiting talented players to join our program. The recruitment process comes with an intricate system that requires careful consideration before extending an offer.

Fortunately, in the recruitment process of College Football 25, some helpful indicators are displayed, such as the Red and Green Badges that accompany certain players’ names. Initially, these badges may be puzzling, but this explanation will clarify their significance and meaning from the game.

What Are The Red And Green Diamonds?

When recruiting players, the Red and Green Diamonds make distinct references to a prospect’s capabilities. While the Red Diamond emphasizes their raw potential, the Green Diamond highlights a unique aspect or trait of that same player.

To discover the hidden potential of these diamonds in a player, first, add them to your list of potential talents, called the Prospect list. Once a player is on this list, navigate to the Scouting tab. Here, invest your resources to thoroughly examine the player and unveil if they hold a Green or Red Diamond status – or any other rating they may have.

Green Diamonds Explained

When you encounter a player bearing a Green Diamond symbol beside their name, it indicates that they possess the capability to advance beyond their present ability level. For example, if there’s a three-star recruit marked with a Green Diamond, this signifies that they have a strong probability of growing into a four- or five-star talent in the future.

Based on my personal experience as a college sports recruitment coach, I can tell you that this isn’t an absolute promise, but the likelihood is quite high. When you come across a prospective player with this label next to their name, and if you’re willing to take a chance, then it would be wise to extend an offer when they are at a certain point in their recruitment process and not receiving much attention from other schools. The fewer offers they have received, the higher the probability that they will consider your school as an option. From my observation, players who are undecided or overlooked can be valuable additions to a team. So, if you’re looking to strengthen your roster, don’t shy away from these prospects; instead, make your move when the time is right.

Red Diamonds Explained

From a gamer’s perspective, Red Diamonds are the complete opposite of Green Diamonds in my experience. When I come across a player with a Red Diamond symbol next to their name, it signals to me that they might not live up to their advertised potential. So, if I encounter a highly-rated recruit with four or five stars, there’s a possibility they could perform below average, closer to the three-star level.

With Green Diamonds, it’s not always a certainty, but the chances involve some risk. Instead of immediately recruiting top talent, consider nurturing a three-star player with a Green Diamond potential in your program, as they could grow into a star player under your guidance.

In Dynasty Mode, recruiting comes with uncertainty as the development of players is not set in stone. These Diamonds serve as reminders of the potential risks involved when bringing a player onto your team. However, success will depend on your dedication and effort to mold them into the key contributors needed to lead your team to victory. This intricate, multi-layered system aims to simulate the authentic college football coaching experience in College Football 25.
