Best Omamori Charms in Silent Hill f

Silent Hill f brought a lot of new and interesting ideas to the series. While these ideas might not become permanent features, they successfully revitalized the Silent Hill franchise and introduced numerous gameplay improvements that are likely to influence future games.

Omamori charms are a special feature – traditional Japanese charms you receive from shrines. These charms boost various aspects of your game, like fighting and using items.

You can find these charms both by exploring the world and by obtaining them from the hokora. They’re designed to assist you, and they really do make a difference! Some Omamori are more effective than others, which can significantly simplify the game.

While the best Omamori really depend on how you like to play, these ones are generally effective for a lot of people.

10. Kudzu Leaf

Overall Just Helpful

The Kudzu Leaf Omamori is really useful when you’re starting out, particularly if you haven’t collected many Ema to improve your Health, Stamina, or Sanity. You can obtain it by chance from a drawing at a shrine (hokora).

This charm boosts your maximum Health, Stamina, and Sanity, helping you survive challenging encounters. It provides a stat increase even if you’ve already fully upgraded your character with Ema.

This ability is really useful, especially when playing on tougher levels where having all three options is essential.

If you’re tackling the Shrine Vault puzzle on Hard mode, remember this image. You’ll need to recognize Kudzu as part of the puzzle, and it won’t be presented in a bottle.

9. Swallow

You Are the Danger

In any New Game+ playthrough, you can locate the Swallow Omamori at Ebisugaoka Middle School. It’s hidden in a new classroom that’s accessible from the courtyard, on the far west side of the map. Look for some steps leading up to a window – the Omamori is inside.

While exploring the classroom, you’ll find some new, creepy surprises and learn more about the game’s story. There’s also a hidden box dedicated to Inari, but you’ll need the Fox Pin – an item from a previous game – to open it.

Inside, you’ll find extra story details and the Swallow Omamori. This charm boosts your attack power each time you successfully counter an enemy, and the effect can build up to five times, making Hinako incredibly strong.

Plus, if you’re like me and can time your counters easily, this will be incredibly handy.

8. Bull

R2 to Victory!

You can find the Bull Omamori in the Worship Hall of the Otherworld, within Sakuko’s area. The Locker Room has a blocked-off section at first, but it becomes accessible after you finish that part of the game.

The Bull charm, found inside, reduces stamina use during Heavy and Charged Attacks.

As a player who enjoys rapid actions, this feature is fantastic! It means I can constantly use my abilities without running out of energy, which is always my first priority when upgrading my Ema skills.

This game strikes a perfect balance between survivability and dealing damage, giving you the best of both worlds.

7. Whale

Excuse Me, I’m Not Finished Eating

The Whale is the first protective charm you’ll find in the game. It’s located in the starting house – the one you unlock with the Bloody Key. Inside, you can also find a key for a back door, which leads to a ladder if you use it.

Once you climb down the ladder, you’ll find the first Omamori. It’s the Whale one, and while it seems basic, it will prevent a lot of trouble later on.

While using a healing item, regular enemy attacks won’t stop you. However, enemies *can* still use special attacks, but you’ll have plenty of warning and be able to dodge them, letting you heal without interruption.

6. Boar

Stamina is Your Life

The Boar Omamori is another one that you can pull from a random draw at the hokora.

This charm improves your stamina recovery and reduces how long you’re winded. Those extra few seconds can be crucial, particularly on more challenging difficulties.

In Silent Hill f, managing your stamina is crucial, so it’s important to keep an eye on it. This helpful item makes that much easier, particularly if you choose to fight a lot of enemies throughout the game.

Alternatively, if you decide to flee, you won’t have to worry about the ‘Out of Breath’ animation causing your defeat.

5. Goat

Not the G.O.A.T., But Dang Good

The Goat Omamori isn’t the best charm in the game, but it’s still really helpful, especially when things get tough.

This special charm is the final Hidden Omamori you can collect, but it only appears after you finish the game once and start a New Game+. You’ll find it at the Mountain Refuge, simply sitting on a bench in plain sight.

This magical item reduces the damage you take when you’re surrounded by enemies. What’s great is that the damage reduction increases the more enemies are around you, potentially letting you take very little damage even when heavily outnumbered.

This game throws so, so many enemies at you that the Goat Omamori provides a great relief.

4. Spider

Thanks, Sakuko!

Weapon durability is an important part of Silent Hill f. Although I’m not usually a fan of this game mechanic, it’s implemented quite well here, and feels fair, particularly when using charms like the Spider charm.

The Spider Omamori charm reduces how quickly your weapons wear down when you use Light Attacks. You can find it in Sakuko’s Mailbox, but getting the key to open it requires a bit of travel back through previously explored areas.

This lets you create effective attack sequences, starting with a strong hit and following up with several quicker ones, without needing to constantly calculate how many attacks you have left.

Also, when playing on tougher levels where it’s harder to find useful items, this can really help keep your weapons in good condition.

3. Crow

Itchy Tasty

Man, this game really puts you through the wringer! After all that suffering, it finally tossed me a little help – the Crow Omamori. And once I snagged the Fox Arm, got branded, and found the Fox Mask, things started opening up. I could suddenly access new areas and uncover secret paths I hadn’t seen before. It was a huge relief!

You’ll find a new room with a Crow Omamori inside. This charm restores your health every time you defeat an enemy. Using the Fox Arm’s Soul Siphon ability will heal you even more!

This item is incredibly strong, particularly on simpler levels where enemies die quickly. Even when things get tough and health potions are scarce, it’s a lifesaver for Hinako.

Silent Hill has always focused on creating deadly challenges, so it’s good to make players really earn their progress.

2. Suzuran

Move Out the Way

While dodging has always been a part of Silent Hill games, including the original Team Silent titles and the Silent Hill 2 Remake, ‘Perfect Dodges’ are a new addition. Players unfamiliar with this timing-based mechanic might struggle at first.

Okay, so I found the Suzuran Omamori pretty easily! It’s along the path to the Shimizu Residence, just on the left side. It’s a lifesaver, honestly – it makes those Perfect Dodges way easier to pull off, which is awesome.

I usually keep this charm equipped because it makes Perfect Dodges much easier to time. Each successful Perfect Dodge fully restores your stamina, letting you maintain a constant offense and defense.

It’s immensely helpful, especially against the various bosses in the game.

1. Sakura

Unlimited Power

The Sakura Omamori is considered the most effective charm. It’s small but powerful, and you can only obtain it by chance at the hokora if you have sufficient Faith.

The Sakura Omamori makes your healing items and other charms more effective. For instance, using charms like Suzuran and Crow will give you a larger window to perfectly dodge attacks and earn more health from defeating enemies. This benefit applies to all charms, so consider how it can improve your gameplay.

Also, this charm makes your healing items stretch further, letting you recover more health with each use – which is great when you’re running low!

I always equip this Omamori right away, and it’s incredibly useful throughout the entire game. I can’t recommend it enough!
